If you DON"T drink and drive, you have nothing to be afraid, but if you drink.... it is to get ppl that still drive when they drink. for me, I am not a drinker it not a problem. Ppl will be safer that way.

I have great respect for the RCMP but I still worry that these new measures are an intrusion on our rights and give police forces additional powers that could be misused ,but I am disturbed by the involvement of MADD . In this country the laws should be made solely by the elected officials we have put in power . As MADD becomes able to control a larger and larger group of voters it becomes more able to impose its agenda on to the people of Canada , One only has to look south of the border at groups like the NRA to realize how much power these special interest groups rob from the elected officials and from the voting public

This law is unconstitutional and an infringement of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Cynically put forward by Justin and his handlers. II would suggest that if you are stopped and get a demand, take the officers name and wait for the class action lawsuit.

This is a policy that will be abused by law enforcement. This step goes too far and won’t solve the problem. This isn’t an extra tool to utilize, it is about more money and that is and always will be the priority for policing. Why not target the establishments that serve alcohol? Well this was once considered but opposition came from owners and the alcohol industry that they would lose revenue - Shame! The divide is growing between ‘law’ and the freedom loving people of the world. Keep passing these unjustified and unconstitutional laws and hopefully a full on ‘restructuring’ of high society and law makers won’t be too far off.

It's very wrong to treat innocent people like criminals. The repercussions of this will create a divide between the community and law enforcement. This is very dangerous for a society that was built on working together. Many of us have already taken steps to protect ourselves from a fascist regime and this trend will grow exponentially as the divide widens.

They slowly but surely start to take away everything. Now every time you get pulled over you'll be getting a breath test. Cops will be definitely power tripping with this new law. Thanks Trudeau

All the awareness campaigns and threats will not deter repeat offenders from driving. As long as there's intoxicants and cars, some people will risk it, human nature. This is government over-reach at its peak, and another example of SIG's getting their talons into government decisions. The laws were strong enough as they were, this is on another level and is going to test individual cops ethical restraint. Get a bad one, and they'll be hauling the baton out to break a tail light....

Giving any organization power to do things without cause takes away fundamental rights.
Our society is turning into A government dictatorship and overstepping its role.
This still does not stop people from getting behind the wheel drunk, it just creates another revenue .
Prevention should be the government and policing role , not just A revenue based system, which entices fruntration and animosity towards police.
