Should First Nations store owners have to pay Manitoba a cannabis retailers’ fee?

My opinion, Provincial Government shouldn’t have jurisdiction on any Reserve! They encourage us to be productive and better ourselves through progress and independence and we have, then they tax the crap out of us! They make a lot of money from our casinos and now they want the majority of profits from the cannabis sales! To say we don’t pay tax is asinine but of a redneck will not understand this as his education level is quite knowledgeable in that area because he can’t read or look up in Google what First Nations contribute! Minuscule minds think that way, they have a small area they’re confined to and you can tell by the comments on here and I don’t intend to get to their level!

I cant begin to understand why Indians are exempt from taxes at all. 2012, 8.5 billion spent in programs and handouts alone. Never mind health care costs of another few billion. If you've spent any time on Northern reserves you'll find despite the insane costs of soft drinks, they're the first things cleaned off shelves. Not carrots and potatoes. Nope. Plus the populations are growing at 20% between 2006 and 2011, compared to 5% for the rest of Canada. Its time to scrap the reserves, scrap the Indian act, start paying taxes and become Canadian citizens like the rest of the population.

All the taxes on legal pot are pricing it out of the market. Black market has better quality, much lower prices, and much more customer care experience with regards to guarantees and return policy. Gotta drop the price to be competitive
