  • Jayla LaBordeaux, Lloyd - The Lady Juggernauts captured the Stephanie Wilson Holiday Tournament crown this weekend winning all three games at the invite. Junior forward Jayla LaBordeaux recorded a double-double in the first game of the tournament. Against Bracken County, on Dec. 28 she scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. The next day she finished with 11 points and four rebounds. She went on to be named tournament MVP.

  • Zoie Barth, Highlands - The Bluebirds went 2-1 this past week finishing as the runners-up at the La Rosa's Holiday Classic with a 54-46 overtime loss to Conner in the tournament championship, Dec. 29. The loss, however, took a back seat to senior Zoie Barth as she tallied her 2,000th career point during the Dec. 30 game. In all, Barth scored 23 against Henry Clay on Dec. 27 and 16 on Dec. 28. She rounded out the tournament on Saturday with 17-point showing in the championship game, which included her 2,000th point. Barth also tallied 14 rebounds during the three games.

  • Mattison Vickers, Simon Kenton - The junior guard had an impressive showing for the Lady Pioneers in the Larosa’s Holiday Classic Tournament Dec. 27-29. She led the Pioneers with 37 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, 1 charge. Great defense and an all-around performance.

  • Maddie Scherr, Ryle – The junior had 61 points (15.2 average), 26 rebounds (6.5 rpg), 27 assists (6.7 apg) and 10 steals (2.5 spg) in the Traditional Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic last week. She shot 52 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free-throw line. Against Dunbar, she became the Ryle High School all-time assist leader with 382.
