Why do people feel HIMSS is not as good as it used to be? I am fairly new to health care information technology. I guess I thought it was a respected organization. I was thinking about getting their certification for HIT (CPHIMS), because I thought it would look really good on a resume. Should I rethink this?

At least they have stopped pretending it’s an educational event and made it clear it’s a trade show. I remember the first time I heard “have a good show”, I was offended as I sold it to my organization as an educational event.
I haven’t attended one educational session by a provider organization in my last 5 HIMSS.
