Heart's Warming Club was only good episode they had given how character-driven it was and didn't portrayed them as the Super Duper Team but like characters with some strengths and flaws. That episode alone made better work for student 6 than any other.
School Raze and Daze were fun only for Mane 6 parts as both were rather unfocused in general.
Both two parters would fare much better if the focus was only on Mane 6 rather than splitting it with the Students, that clearly aren't as interesting.
What Lies Beneath was nice overall but it's still a blatant stunt aiming to depict how flawless students are.
In general Students are pretty bad addition to the show, and don't deserve even a thought of becoming next bearers of the elements.

Let's be real with ourselves here, "Non-Compete Clause" is obviously THE first MLP episode to ever get a 4.9/10 rating on IMDb, so it would make sense for it to be last place here. Seriously, that is QUITE an accomplishment. XD

Do you suppose that the Students Six were meant to succeed the Mane Six just as the latter replaced the Pillars? Was that real purpose of the school of friendship that the Cutie Map had in mind all along?

Well of COURSE 'What Lies Beneath' is best episode for them. It's clearly all about their strength and determination to each individual
