Parker Kyle, Boone County – Kyle had 23 points in a loss to St. Henry Friday night in the only game this week. This was after he scored 31 points and 40 points in two games last weekend.
Eli Howard, Newport Central Catholic - The junior guard averaged 15 ppg, six assists, five rebounds and two steals a game this week as the ‘Breds went 3-0 defeating West Jessamine, Holy Cross and Bellevue.
Nick Thelen, Covington Catholic – He had 14 points, behind previous athlete of the week winner Grant Disken’s 18 points, in the 53-47 win over Cooper Jan. 11. He had 5 rebounds, two assists and a block to his line.
Ty Houston, Cooper – He had a team-high and game-high-tying 18 points along with an assist, a steal and 7 rebounds in the loss to Covington Catholic Jan. 11.
Spencer Macke, Silver Grove - In a loss to Calvary Christian, the left-hander went for 28 points and 14 rebounds. So far this season, Macke, who has accepted a preferred walk-on spot at West Virginia, is averaging 30.5 points and 14.7 boards per game.
Wyatt Vieth, St. Henry - The sophomore had 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting (8-for-9 from the charity stripe) and had eight rebounds in St. Henry's 82-59 win over Boone County Jan. 11. Vieth is currently averaging just shy of 20 points per game for the Crusaders, who have won four of their last six.
Kelly Niece, Simon Kenton - The Pioneers rolled over Dixie Heights 86-61 Jan. 11 behind Niece, who scored a game-high 36 points. The sophomore guard is currently averaging 25 points per game, which ranks 13th in the state. Simon Kenton is 12-4 and has won three of its last four.
