I do not agree with schools teaching my 8 year old about the LGBTQ community in school I am totally against it I have nothing against the way people live but don't bring that into my home because I don't live like that way I didn't appreciate my granddaughter to coming home asking me what is LBGQT and ,

Cory, yes Christ said love one another. I Absolutely agree. At no point in time is anyone talking About not loving. And history is history regardless of orientation. The moment orientation becomes justification for specific laws or teaching the historical ACTION is lost and overshadowed by the personal life of the individual. I have known, still know and have served and still serve with people of all orientations and at NO POINT IN TIME was their orientation justification for special favor or circumstance... their actions were. My children are my responsibility and if the school “must” get involved as your so eloquently put it then where is the school or state on abstinence where two high school students aren’t able to support a child. Where is the school or state on massive efforts to combat the drug plague in our state and county, where is the state in domestic violence beyond a law that often times falls short of actual action to prevent and is more reactive in nature? If you want tolerance then school prayer, religion in schools and faith must ALSO be included or we have become nothing more than a place where squeaky wheels get the oil and the rest of us need to ride along or be punished.

I have a gay brother and a lesbian sister but it's not the schools responsibility to teach my children anything and sexually orientation I fully support the LGBT movement they are human beings and should be allowed to live however they choose but that is my decision about how I teach my children about those types of things keep up the good work mayor

I do not want my son learning about sexuality in school. I am going to have to take my kid out of NJ schools if this law stands.
Who gives these people the right to force this on our kids?

Wow, I can’t believe you “religious” hypocrites are still around in 2019. Gay people exist wether you “believe” in them or not. Teaching LGBT history is no different than teaching black history or Latino history in our schools. Just like climate change, sticking your heads in the sand doesn’t change reality. Face it, your belief system is outdated and falls apart under the slightest scrutiny. Reflect on the actual words of Christ “love one another”. If you lack empathy and are so emotionally stunted that you are unable to teach your children tolarance, then it’s up to the schools.

As a retired health teacher of health and family living, l am appalled at where public education is headed. I applaud the Barnegate mayor for his stand against teaching about LBGQTXYZ
people. Those students who allegedly fall into those unholy pits of alternate life styles are in for more disappointment and problems than they ever imagined. They need counseling about their selected problems. I wonder how many of them are making claims of their conditions because it is fashionable, hip, daring or attention getting?
We are still a Christain nation that our forefathers based our civil and moral compass. It is the Liberals and humanists that have misdirected society's understanding of what is moral or immoral. There is a price to pay for their misguided choices in their young, naive, inexperienced lives. I pray they will realized their errant choice before it is too late for them.
