I recently had a real baseball practice for a 45+ league and I was the pitcher. I swear, 60’6” never looked so far when I played in high school. So, 90’ base paths trying to steal is completely out of the question to try to sprint that far. Putting a ball in play against a major league pitcher who is changing speeds and locations seems hopeless. So, my choice has to be fielding a grounder and making the throw. My thinking is that the ball is coming so fast that you can only react and have zero time to think about what’s about to kill you. I think I could maybe field it and then somehow get the throw off in time or maybe I’d wake up in the hospital sometime in the future.
