  • Jon Cummins, Simon Kenton – The top seed won a Kentucky High School Athletic Association singles championship Feb. 8 178-175 win over Austin Tungate of Taylor County in the finals. He and Newport’s Mirena Combs completed a Northern Kentucky sweep of 2019 state singles championships.

  • Travis Boehl, Northwest – The junior currently leads the Knights and the conference in average with a 213, with series last week of 483 (264, 219) against La Salle and 479 (224, 255) in a loss to Colerain.

  • Ethan Rowe, Middletown – He had a 473 series, with games of 268 and 205, to help No. 1 conference team Middletown boys beat Harrison Feb. 5. He also had a 426 series (201 and 225) in a Feb. 8 win over Princeton.

  • Matthew Oberlin, Kings – The senior averaged 205 over six games (including a 244) to help his team in a home/away sweep over league rivals Anderson, and a win over the first place and previously undefeated West Clermont team. It was West Clermont's first league loss in two years.
