I was Thinking my medications were causing side effect of the nausea. Now I’ve realized it’s probably caused by the migraines themselves. It’s usually attached to motion sensitivity. If I move my head the wrong way, move my body the wrong way, move too fast (what my body is registering is too fast), it makes me nauseous. I try to take Imitrex as early as I can tell it’s a migraine (which I’m still trying to get better at learning). I also take Metoclopramide If the nausea is too strong. I’m taking 800mg of Gabapentin a day but still haven’t figured if it’s the right preventative for me.
Migraines are so tough to figure out. ????
It’s good to know I’m not alone though. And I have a good headache dr/neurologist.

My feet hurt like mad, my hair can hurt too but the most odd is that when I get migraine I can guarantee that there will be a major earthquake (magnitude 6 or above) somewhere in the world within 24 - 36 hours of the migraine beginning. But of course I don't have wings to fly or swim like a fish, so that can't be true, even though I have been predicting earthquakes like this for over 10 years. Most of the really severe migraine is now well controlled with huge doses of propranolol and aborted with Zomig. Without these drugs I would still have the worst of the migraine, nausea, vomiting and days of pain.

I have about 5-6 migraine attacks a week, but can generally cap them before they go into the nausea and vomiting. Probably 1-2 a year get away from me, once the vomiting starts, it's every 30 minutes for 12-15 hours. The only preventative medicine I ever saw results from was Sansert, which was 25 cents a pill, cheap, but they took it off the market. A "sister" compound called Methergine is available at $82.00 a pill for basically the same compound. Want to know how much I love the pharmaceutical companies?

When I start to get nauseated I immediately take Zofran. It's what we used to give pregnant women for their nausea. It's not given as much today for pregnancy nausea but it works great for me when the migraine hits. I use the under the tongue Zofran (Ondansetron). It's funny that my doctor didn't prescribe until I requested the medication since I was familiar with it from dealing with the nauseated pregnancy patients. Imitrex and Zofran go with me EVERYWHERE!

I have a very predictable pattern. Pounding head, nausea & vomiting, quiet often diarrhea at the same time (last time I vomited all over the floor whilst on the toilet!), I sweat profusely whereby I can end up with damp clothes & hair. Sometimes i also get the shakes. It is truly awful. I have had this pattern for years but luckily do not get them that often (maybe 6 or so a year). Thought I'd share seeing some of my symptoms aren't mentioned in the poll.
I also get general headaches, but daily magnesium & B2 have helped with the frequency & intensity.
