Donated $3 min. Donated over $50 total last time. Would have been $27 every month if it was not to ActBlue. Wasted money to give to D party. If Biden becomes this years Hillary I will not donate again. Id like to see Bernie and Tulsi share my Presidential ticket. They could defeat Trump. Biden would lose to Trump. Same for other neoliberal Ds. Bernie. Tulsi.

I’m behind Bernie right now. But I want to hear more from Lawrence Lessig and Andrew Yang.

  • Stephen - 5 years ago

Neal, I didn't mean to sound as if "a bargain" were possible. It's not. What I was trying to say, without sounding too radical, was that since the two bourgeois political parties won't give the People any kind of break, (WE ARE the majority of this country) the People should give the bourgeois another term of President "delirium tremor" and somewhere along the line there will be a real revolution, as per KM. Albeit, peaceful revolution is the better route but probably not the reality.
The way things are going, this Administration will leave the hull of the U.S. at the bottom of the dustbin, next to the hull of the U.S.S.R. and it will be our karma, for our meddling in the affairs of other countries. Same as we did to the U.S.S.R. when it was still a super power. There was a propaganda outlet back then called "Radio Free Europe", which was funded by the US and was the Fox News of it's time.
    ...Payback's a bitch.

My dream primary would include the following:

    Bernie Sanders
    Elizabeth Warren
    Andrew Yang
    Lawrence Lessig
    Bill McKibben
    Ro Khanna
    Rashida Tlaib
    Ilhan Omar

My top priorities for change include passing something along the lines of Lawrence Lessig's Citizen Equality Act. I believe that's a prerequisite for action on anything else, as unrigging the electoral system is necessary for any change on any issue anyone cares about.

Other than that, I'd say that the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and the triple threat of Sanders' estate tax, Warren's wealth tax, and AOC's marginal tax plans are also at the top of my list of policies we need to see accomplished.

Stephen's sentiments echo mine, but mine contain no room for bargaining--"If the democratic party and their henchmen...are pushing against Sen. Sanders..." To bargain at this point would resemble a fool's errand. After having witnessed how the Democratic Party operates--much more akin to an organized crime syndicate--there is truthfully no option other than to run as third-party candidates or unaffiliated independents, along with one other procedural option: to bypass political-party primaries in favor of putting all of their energy into the general election. This is a strategy that could benefit Bernie very well because of his instant name recognition, yet he would forever burn his (rickety) bridges to the DP (as would any other candidate with the TEMERITY to run against and independent of The Syndicate).

I feel the only ones here I trust because of a long and daring track record are Bernie and Warren
Others could just be trying to ride a wave and shift if the wind blows in another direction.

There isn't a Veteran out there , Democratic , Republican , Independent , Libertarian or Green that shouldn't stand behind TulsiGabbard2020.org ; Veterans Make Your Voice Be Heard ! Tired of spending Trillions of your tax dollars on war ? TulsiGabbard2020.org : A New Direction for America ; MSM Will do everything they can to stop Tulsi and we must not let that happen ! Remember it's up to us to help Tulsi Gabbard in every way possible , talking about her , share her video on all facebook groups , social media , youtube comments , donations , people if you want results we have to work ! Not just for a day but all the way to the Presidency ! Tulsi Takes No Pack Money ! Surely if people give Sanders who advocates for more wars $27 we can donate $27 to Tulsi for Peace ; So do you stand for peace or more wars !

  • Sam Clark DiBrell - 5 years ago

Bernie is absolutely whom I support. I would also support Tulsi Gabbard or Jeff Merkley. Warren, if I had to over tRUMP. Sherrod...no.

24 February 2019 is way, way too early to be floating this kind of poll.

Having said that, my inclination at this point, when all other factors are equal (and yeah, I know they never are) to think within this hierarchy: (1) African American women; (2) other women of color, (3) women of norther European heritage, (4) African American Men, (5) Other men of color and, at the bottom of the pile, as a very last resort, (6) men of norther European heritage.

(And, for the record, I am a member of final category.)

While they're all good, Bernie already has the name recognition outside of progressive circles in a way that the others do not. The mainstream media can do a good job hampering everybody in the list except Bernie. He already broke through their opposition 4 years ago and everybody knows who he is and what he stands for. The others, as good as they are, will have to fight their way to be reported on by the mainstream news, whereas Bernie is already there.

I will not vote for any candidate who won't legitimately address our poverty crisis, and no Democrat can/will do that.

  • Stephen - 5 years ago

If the democratic party and their henchmen in the media, even hint that they are pushing against Sen. Sanders campaign AGAIN...he really should run third party. I donated on the 1st day of his announcement but will not keep up with my donations, if they pull the same thing and the money I can't afford to be donating will end up going to the democratic party again. Better a 2nd dt,Presidency, than being forced to vote for a pre selected corporate political party candidate! Death to the duopoly. !
