There are a lot of incidences where the lights are flashing, no animals to be seen, so locals and frequent weekenders ignore them. One time I was going down the recruitment stretch and three mule deer crossed the highway a fair distance away,the lights never came on. When I got to where they crossed they at least 100 feet off the road and headed away, that is when the lights started flashing. What good is that?? My opinion a wildlife corridor with a high fence would be better and a lot cheaper in the long run.
