Spirited Away is the most overrated film of the 2000s. Squid might not be the most underrated, but it's pretty underseen.

Again, not even a contest. The full glowering of the master Miyazaki’s glorious, mad, effortlessly, otherworldly wonderful imagination, Spirited Away, takes you to places nothing else can.

I totally agree with Mike here. Spirited Away is an exceptional demonstration of the power of animated film in general and of Miyazaki's mastery of the form in particular. Squid is nowhere near Spirited Away's level formally or thematically.

As the lone representative of this style of filmmaking in the tourney, I think Spirited Away HAS to advance. It has the potential to upset for a round or two. Could it be the Wes Anderson slayer? Maybe....juuuuust maybe.

Back when I did top 10s, Spirited Away was my top film of the year. I really loved Squid, but it is not in the same conversation. Sorry.
