I might be all alone out in the wildnerness with this one, but there are times when I feel "A Serious Man" is the Coens' absolute best film. It certainly has the best opening/closing scene combo. Just pure haunting existential dread. At any rate it oscillates somewhere between 1-to-3 in my personal Coen rankings.

Unbreakable is super underrated, but not greatest of the decade by any stretch.

Ok. This was my personal hardest pick of the first round. I sometimes abstain, mostly because I haven't seen both films, or sometimes because I don't really know or care which one should win, but I must put my vote in here and tell everyone that I LOVE Unbreakable. I really think it's one of the greats.
    However...
A Serious Man is one of those films that stunned me after first watching. Then after prolonged meditation, my perplexity developed into appreciation, and appreciation grew into awe...which after further reviewing settled into the believe that it's one of the best Coen movies ever. Definitely their best of the 2000's.

Throughout all the "serious" questions and struggles of life, just be a good boy...and find somebody to love.

The best Coen film period, not just of the decade, over a pretty good Shyamalan film.

I’l be curious to see if Glass hurts or helps Unbreakable’s chances here. Historically voting against the Coens in FSM isn’t smart money, but with No Country the odds on favorite to win the whole thing I’m guessing Unbreakable sneaks away here.
