A new Washington state bill would require public schools to teach sex-ed, whereas right now, it's an option. Thoughts?
Many students will engage in sexual activity whether or not they're taught sex-ed — this is a opportunity to make sure all students gain valuable knowledge about their bodies and healthy relationships.
Sex-ed shouldn't be taught in schools — it should be up to parents to decide when and how their children learn about sex.
I think sex-ed should be taught in schools, but we should focus on "abstinence only" education. Students shouldn't be encouraged to engage in sexual activity.
I'm very excited to hear this bill has language about "affirmative consent." I hope this leads to a decrease in sexual harassment and violence in our schools.
