Should Prime Minister Trudeau resign in wake of SNC-Lavalin affair?

SNC lavilin broke the law, just like Trudeau. Both should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If Trudeau actually believes what he spouts then he is a bigger idiot than everyone thought. His Dad the PET ruined this country with a Constitution that gave the criminal every break, lined the lawyers pockets and put the general population in Jeopardy. This is direct observation from a police officer. And to actually give a murderer 10 million dollars is still so unbelievable that it defies logic. He was 15 years old which is old enough to know right from wrong. Here in Canada a 13 year old can be prosecuted for Criminal Code offences.
Trudeau, please get out before you actually get someone hurt.

Trudeau should NOT resign. He didn’t break any laws. SNC fired all the criminal people earlier. The many employees who would be vulnerable to job losses are not guilty of what the previous employees did. Trudeau was just trying to keep people working. Andrew Scheer is not ready. He has invested in RELPS which allow him huge tax breaks, and he flaunts his Catholicism too much, in my opinion. Real religious but sure likes to indulge in the RELPS to get his huge tax breaks.

He borrow his father's name to promote himself. He was elected because our citizens wanted a change after ten years of stable ruling under Harper, but why change if not for the better !? He legalized marijuana,he support gay, he open the big door for questionable refugees without consider any possible consequences,he spent your money without a blink among other crooked deeds.Like Trump said he is a joke ( Not fit to run our country) , he is a liar,he is an arrogant sob, at worse,he ignore what you think. I don't care who comes in next term ,but I want him out bad. Please don't let him fuxx around no more .....

He should resign immediately! Scandal after scandal, absolutely disgusting that he gets away with this. In my profession I can lose my license for serious ethical violations. Our leadership in politics should be treated no differently!

It is long time that Canadians look long and hard about continuing to support Quebec in confederation. Their abject abuse of protocol, bribery of government officials, obscenely unsustainable transfer payments, and their general smug attitude towards the rest of Canada warrants that province being kicked to the curb. That would go a long way to remove the corruption required to appease this cultural backwater of a province. Oh, and all the liberals involved in this criminal appeasement process should go to jail. This should be a warning to future abusers of office, and other jurisdictions wanting to take unfair advantage of confederation. Quebec has been the uncomfortable elephant in the room for over 50 years that no one seems to want to talk about. Consider that notice has been served.

Truedeau went on TV and lied to the people stating no pressure and no interference for that he must resign.
However why did Ms. Wilson not seek legal advice if she did not understand the sort of by-law DPA to the law before she made her decision.

    The Chronicle was so perfect...
could someone actually check the dates for validity?
Lavalin should not be in a Canadian Court for what happened in Libya. When you live or work in a corrupt country you must abide by their crooked laws in order to do business...

We can not allow our political parties to corrupt our judicial system for their own benefit or we no longer have a democracy but a dictatorship. It would seem that Justin Trudeau has no respect for the laws of this country if they do not fit into his agenda. It would be better for everyone if he resigned now.

For the people that voted no you must be very very uneducated by this or they are SNC-Lavalin employees trying to save thier butts

Judas Trudeau needs to go .Should start a GoFund for a one way trip to the Middle East .He would fit right in with his religious friends .

  • Steve Durocher - 5 years ago

Junior should resign. It will only get worse for him on this and other issues such as donations to the Clinton Foundation, relationship with the Bronfman family and the NXIVM sex cult. There are other scandals to explore such as FVEY (Five Eyes) spying on the Trump election campaign and involvement if any in the Uranium One transaction that saw uranium pass through Canada and into the hands of the Russians (also a Clinton connection).

  • Shaun h - 5 years ago

Sure hes In bed with snc but he shouldn't lose his job over it.theyre all crooks and we've known this for decades. Those crooks at snc should be charged criminally and thrown in jail. Trudeau should have the indignity of serving out the rest of his term only to get ousted by jody wilson raybould in the next election.

Christian I am not, but In a spirit of forgiveness I have to say that it will be totally fine to make a dramatic reduction of the coming prison term for the former substitute Drama teacher. Nine years and 364 days should be enough.
    =============================================

Criminal Code of Canada - section 139(2) - Idem. 139(2)

Every one who wilfully attempts in any manner other than a manner described in subsection (1) to obstruct, pervert or defeat the course of justice is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years.

I feel that Trudeau should be allowed to due process in the courts of public opinion. I do not like the way that Andrew Sheer has jumped on this like as the only one who could govern this country. Smacks of wanting the job as he is the only one who could carry this out. What experience has he on a national scale? But then what were President Trump's experiences on a national scale?

  • Larry - 5 years ago

I would think that Justin Trudeau should resign and apologize to Jody Wilson Raybould on his way out. The way I see it is that she only done what the law allowed and the PMO wanted her to fix it. She done the honorable thing and stuck to her guns. We have to remember who schooled Justin and the apple didn't fall far from the tree. He is done and will get little respect from most Canadians if he hangs on to the fall election.

The sooner we get rid of this incompetent individual the better Canada will be. Think of what Trumps thinks of him. He is not strong enough. He is a joke.

  • Derry McDonell - 5 years ago

Last time I checked the accused was still entitled to defend himself against the charges. Or have we simply decided to hang him on the basis of one side of the story? I for one am not entirely convinced that the AG was totally within her rights to not only decide that the charge as written was valid but also that there were no valid alternatives to prosecution and that any suggestion otherwise was an unacceptable attempt to interfere with her judicial authority. Why? Because not only was she a judicial administrator, she was a member of the federal cabinet. In short, a politician and a senior member of the ruling party, both of which come with responsibilities and considerations beyond the basic job description. No cabinet minister has, or ought to have, the expectation that any decision made by him or her is not subject to cabinet review nor any suggested alternatives, regardless of the impact on other portfolios or the public. Isn’t this the same issue (cabinet privilege) we are dealing with in the Plecas Affair?

Anyone know what happened to the Trudeau Gropegate affair, that seems to have been quietly dispensed with, I don't think this will go away in a hurry, although he is more slippery than a very slippery thing..

I have been living in Quebec for the past 30 years. The problem of crony capitalism thrives whether it is the federal liberals and CAQ running affairs or the federal Tories and provincial Liberals turn. I find it disturbing we have a PM from Montreal, a justice minister from montreal an ethics commissioner originating from montreal all working together to clean up the filth in this province.

If there's no criminal investigation, it means there is no rule of law in Bananada.

  • kevin j clarke - 5 years ago

He either resigns now or stays on and takes the whole liberal party down with him as he goes. Every day he remains PM the liberal party loses more votes, so I like that. hahaha

He should be thrown in jail period! And for the 698 people who voted No...you should all be stripped of your right to vote! None of you have Canadas best interest at heart. Educate yourselves, I beg you.

  • Rick Hofman - 5 years ago

Justin needs to have a "walk in the snow" just like P.E.T. Did 35 years ago and do the same thing he did. Resign! The credibility of this administration is gone and the electorate has lost confidence in the lying liberal leader.

Time for a "Sunny ways" ride into the sunset.

  • Wally - 5 years ago

How can anyone support a liar? I believe Jody Wilson-Raybould’s testimony was credible and threw the corrupt PMO’s office under the bus where it belongs.
