I think the pirates played small market ball and did fairly well trying to capture lightening in a bottle which to a large extent is what small ball is about.they have acquired several players and retained several players that show lightening potential including kang, archer, chisenhall, Rodriguez among several others.In addition, a chance in hitting philosophy (more power)is likely to produce five 20 plus home run hitters including Marte, Polonco, Dickerson, Kang,Bell as well as couple more.close to 20 homers.They have acquired so much potential in the off season that they seem likely to catch lightening w at least two infielders and at least two pitchers.they will definitely be.co tenders in their division thru august inspite of the upgrades by other teams in their division. Sure certain players have to stay relatively healthy but that is true for all the teams in their division.so rather than the pirates being on the sidelines this off season, they have been right in the thick of it albeit with a small ball philosophy.

While growing up I had Sid bream wrist bands, headbands, posters, drink cuzzies, underwear, thong, shave kit, custom made shirts, hand painted toilet seat with sids face. I cried in fetal position for weeks after he went to Atlanta. One night in a rage I threw a McDonald’s Apple pie on my dining room wall. When Sid bream slided into home after the light hitting Francisco Cabrera hit.a seeing eye single I immediately went effectively in a depressed stupor for years. I changed my sons name from Sid to Grille. Pirates off season an A, I am back to the worlds hugest Pirates fan.
