She is making a mistake and I hope our legislators will vote the will of the.majority of their constituents instead of her ignorant idea to stop something that is inevitable.

I refuse to vote for any person that runs for public office that does not support full marijuana legalization.

Enough is enough, this is my state, and YOUR children are not MY children, stop making them everyone else's responsibility because of your fears.

If you do not want them to smoke pot, then you better teach them not to do so, just like you teach them not to drink alcohol or smoke tobacco, RIGHT??

Or would you rather keep the laws as they are and see your CHILDREN that you're using as an excuse to infringe on MY PRIVACY AND FREE CHOICE, in prison for smoking a JOINT.

Or how about the people who have been GUNNED DOWN AND KILLED, had their houses raided based on FALSE information???

Someone local to me in Tioga County had their house raided based on an INFORMANTS FALSE INFORMATION... Turned out, it was literally a senior citizens knitting guild.

The Sheriff is still in office, SOMEHOW.

No, the people are entirely sick of you fascists and your NONSENSE and made up statistics to justify your impositions and dictations, your judgements and your hypocrisys, don't like weed?? We don't care, go drink a beer...

People cite driving high as one reason not to legalize Pot. While there may not be tests to determine how high a person is on marijuana, there are very easy ways to determine if a person is high on it and there are currently laws against driving under the influence. Another reason they say is that people will go to work high, in those cases the person would be subject to the companies rules concerning being under the influence on the job. As far as losing our moral values, what does smoking pot or drinking for that matter have to do with a person's morals??

I remember the drinking age in NYS being 18. It was noted that DUI auto accidents among New Jersey Teens was very high. Will we have Check points on the LIE and Belt and Grand Central/Northern State to search vehicles??? We had a prohibition against alcohol. The mobsters and thugs made out very well. The "rich and Privleged" never went dry. Mayor Jimmy Walker of NYC had a club/speakeasy keep his private stash of booze. Prohibition of Alcohol had "rumrunners" exploiting L.I.'s many secluded coves and beaches. Law enforcement was corrupted. Let's look back at the past and learn for our future. "Geez, I better smoke all this before I cross the Queens line." -- Sanctity is a personal decision, and though you can legislate prohibitions you can't make people good by telling them, you crossed Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park with Cannabis.. When you went to the North Side of the Street you broke the law. I guess we could build a wall and have Queens pay for it.

The crazy fears being spread around about Pot are just that. There has never been a lung cancer case a dementia case or any insanity or mental disorder associated with its use. Contrarily it's a medicine that helps with all of those ailments but stupidity.

This is really stupid. People will buy marijuana anyway. We sell alcohol and cigarettes. Alcohol is more harmful than marijuana. We need the tax dollars. And people will just go to our other surrounding counties. She definitely will lose my vote if she does this.

All the comments on legalization center around the need to get more tax dollars. Nobody is considering the ramifications of long term use. There is currently no test to determine marijuana levels in drivers. This can have obviously deadly consequences. Work usage of "Mary Jane" can also have dire consequences. Another argument against so called"legalization" and "sin taxes" is where does it stop.Have we lost all of our moral values? Is legal prostitution another way to get tax dollars? If you recall the basis for the lottery was that all the proceeds would go for education and reduce our taxes. Has this turned out to be true? I think not. When politicians get more revenue they spend it, and not for which those revenues were allocated.

I think this is the dumbest stand she could ever take. People are going to buy it no matter what so make it legal so we don't have to go to drug dealers or need medical card to purchase it. I will just to to NYC or New Jersey to buy it and giving away your tax dollars to someone else is ridiculous. That money could help with schools, roads, transportation, fund programs that had to be cut.
If she blocks this I will not vote her in at the next election and i am sure there are many who feel the same way

Why would you want to ban recreational marijuana with the cost of taxes in the county? New Jersey will make $44 per ounce of marijuana sold in the state. Look at the amount of taxes made on the sale of cigarettes and alcohol and tell me Ms. Curran how you see banning the sale of marijuana is a good thing for Nassau County.. The property taxes in Nassau County are through the roof so a little extra help from legalizing recreational marijuana would help immensely.

Nassau needs the tax dollars. People are buying pot anyway, why not reap the tax benefits???/
