What is motivating Macron to stand against the A50 extension?

He thinks it will do the British a favour, because it will increase the likelihood of rescission of A50 33%
It is all a pose, suggested by his drama teacher (aka Mrs Macron) so as to make us believe a long extension is not something to be taken for granted, and therefore make the British all the more ready to try and get that. In turn this will increase the chance that a second referendum will support remaining, which it wouldn't right now. 33%
