The Cubs traded away Lou Brock, the red sox traded away George Herman Ruth, the Bears traded away Greg Olson . Now they trade away Howard. If we had an Offence Line that opens holes for a Running Back Howard would be Ending His career Behind, Payton, Sayers. Maybe We( Bears) should Trade Away Pace ! You Go with What You Have & Add to It . O that's right We have All those Draft Picks. This is a Nightmare .

The Eagles had the 28th ranked running game in the league last year and guess who they beat in the playoffs? By 1 point. Now, think back to the trick play two point conversion that failed in the same playoff game. Had we just given the ball to Howard, he scores the two points, we never know of the phrase "double doink" and we could have won the Super Bowl. Sometimes these "geniuses" overthink things and this is one of them. You just made a playoff opponent that much better.

This is a boneheaded move. It's another Greg Olson moment. A sixth round pick for a guy who proved to be one of the steals of the draft three years ago? Pace has just out foxed himself. This move also shows a lack of loyalty to players who produce. I'm a died in the wool bear fan but the whole organization leaves me cold. NFL stands for Not For Long. I hope Howard makes the Bears org eat dust with regret -- just like Olson did after another now forgotten coordinator named Martz claimed Olson. did not fit the offensive scheme. It is the Coach's responsibility to make the gameplan fit the players not the reverse. The Bears made great strides this past year but this trade will prove unwise over time. I am also disappointed with the way it was handled -- including the timing and the lack of confidentiality. It's almost like the Bears went out of their way to diss Howard.

Bad move on the Bears part, you can't be productive on the sidelines. Howard was ahead of Walter Payton's numbers after two seasons. How many dropped balls did Howard have last season? The answer is Zero. When it was show time last season who did Nagy go to in the running game? Jordan Howard. It's all about who gets paid the big bucks and who doesnt. The Bears are a weaker team now because of it and other moves made by GM.

The Bears offense may be set to explode on the scene this year .. wait watch and see .. Bears actually do know what they are doing ... Thank You very Much Jordan Howard .. will always remember your great plays especially that one where the guy went for that Forced fumble strip who you evaded and basically won the game for us .. ! Running down the left sideline .. Ravens I think it was in 2017. Best of Luck .. Thank you for the memories ! Go Bears ! Fan since 1966.

Something else is going on here.
How many times has anyone seen Jordan
on an interview. When was the last time his face was seen on tv.
Was there a personality issue here.
    This dude could run!!
    Dropped passes?? Cmon!!
Greg Olsen didn't block, so they got rid a great talent too!

They should've kept Jordan Bcuz of his capable ability. That's what training camp is for to fit him in the system. He was thunder to Cohen's lighting. Nagy is a very good coach & just as good an upgrade from the last two Head coach's we had.I just don't hope we don't get snake bit again bcuz when Alshon was let go he got a "Ring" + a parade.

Although he had early success in his Bear career, his rushing totals did declined every year. Thats not a sign of the system thats a declining skill set. He also lost games during the Fox era because he dropped easy catches. If there was a market for Howard, Pace would have gotten more for him. He was a 5th round pick that played at 5th round pick level. He didn't do anything special in Chicago. Bears were fortunate to get what they got for him. No denying he was a bright spot during a bad time under Fox but we all watched Nagy get the most out of the players he inherited, Howard didn't respond to the challange.

Pace , Nagy and the fans who agree with tue decision seriously have no idea who and what we just let go of. He was only a number yards away from his 3rd straight 1000 yard season where he started, a new whole offensive system. He was still in experiment mode this past season. We haven't seen him in his prime yet. Since I been a Bear's fan I've witnessed them letting go of Greg Olson, Brian Urlacher, Charles Tillman, Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte, Alston Jeffery..... The Bears are the most ungrateful team in the NFL

Thanks 24. Hope you tear up the league, as long as it's not the bears

Should have kept him for at least one more season, believe this will come back to haunt them.

Howard will be better this year. Too bad it won't be for bears. It'll be for the team that whipped our ads in the palyoffs.

  • Aidan Gallagher - 5 years ago

I think they should've kept him at least one more year on his bargain contract. He did pick it up later in the season when Nagy made adjustments and they had a loaded backfield with balance. I think it was a bad move all around.

You guys swear like Howard was the second coming of christ. He went from 5.1 yards per carry as a rookie to 3.7 last season...all while having almost the same amount of carries. His hands are ok but he's not a 3 down back. They can definitely improve the positiin

6th round pick next season, possibly a 5th. This is a joke right? The Bears will feel the pain from this trade for years to come.

Feels like the Greg Olson trade all over again. Look,...Nagy had Kareem Hunt in the playoffs and never gave him the ball enough in the second half of the playoff game (2017) where they were up by 20+ points or more, so no excuses for not running the ball to eat up the clock . So much for the system,..what does it matter if you are just a terrible run caller. Bears in playoff and he only runs it like 12 times I think. And again no excuses because the game was a close score game. Sometimes it's the coaches fault, as good as they are at the passing playcalls, they have no clue how to run the ball. It's the coaches fault, he needs to utilize the players strength.

You trade away the leagues top 5 running back for peanuts, seriously Sixth Round Draft pick. They should have gotten more for him
