    Good point Scott!
As a Director of an Early Learning and Childcare Centre I can attest to the fact that finding and retaining quality staff is difficult. In our community, we are very blessed to work with newcomers to Canada and we support, train and encourage our staff to further their education in the field. It is time that the government understood the level of commitment and education it takes to be a an ECE and to provide a quality childcare program. Give us the financial tools which will allow us mentors to feel good about promoting this field as something that is important and valued in our society.

Hey Wayne this is a social issue, not a private issue. When you get older and require health care, or when you get older and require senior care, who do you think is going to be the people taking caring for you? If we’re not taking care of our kids, what incentive would they possibly have to take care of us? We’re all in this together

The government should have nothing to do with Child Care and its cost. That should be a matter for the parents and care providers to work out, whether they are employed through the workplace or privately.
