Who's the 2020 frontrunner?

Andrew Yang has my vote. He has shown an ability to unify progressives, libertarians, former Trump voters, and even some conservatives. He actually has policy that is specific and out in the open. The Universal Basic Income proposal is just one of many big policies that he is advocating for. For those questioning the numbers on UBI. FYI, they do add up. The gains and benefits are actually greater than the cost by around $200 Billion. In comparison, many of the other Democratic candidates are either completely polarizing, or have platforms that are totally non-existent or incredibly vacuous. We do not need some guy mimicking JFK and speaking in platitudes, and we do not need a person whose whole shtick is to be a focal point of the Right's anger and ridicule. That being said, I will support almost anyone against Trump, with good reason. My second choice would be Gabbard, followed closely by Sanders.

  • Joseph Albert Schmidt - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang is seriously the best candidate I have ever seen in my adult life. 18 Years of voting and being politically active and I have never felt so compelled to be part of, and volunteer for, a campaign. He is solution oriented, and his policies will help the majority of Americans. I like Bernie too, but his problem is that he self identifies as a socialist. Republicans have weaponized that word successfully, and frankly, it scares old white people. Yang is explicitly a capitalist, and no one is scared of that. #Yang2020

  • Sally Corey - 5 years ago

I like Andrew Yang a lot, but obviously this poll is very skewed in his favor because all polls show Bernie the leader.

  • David - 5 years ago

Yang2020! I love his campaign, I love what he stands for, I love his forward thinking ideas. He’s not here trying to build a political resume, he’s here to make America better for us all. He unites both sides with his intelligence, and backs up his plans with concrete ideas.
I love Bernie Sanders and pushed for him in 2016, but after listening to Andrew Yang, now I think the dream team would be Yang and Sanders as vp. That ticket would be unstoppable and America would become a super power again! Unlike what the Trump disaster has done to us, all that fool has done is divide us and cost us power on the world stage. Yang 2020!!!!

I voted Tulsi and it came up Williamson. WTH?

  • Marilyn Chin - 5 years ago

Tulsi/Bernie/Williamson/Warren/Yang. Tulsi has integrity and military experience. She would be the "AOC" on the international stage. She was the only candidate who critiqued what happened to Julian Assange and the first amendment. Bernie is great but needs to be more direct on foreign policy. His age is not a problem to me. Yang is interesting but has some right wing positions like no minimum wage and sunset clauses on some legislation. The risk is that the UBI would push the corporations to pay even less because there is no minimum wage. Buttigieg checks off the identity boxes (gay, multilngual, veteran, married, Harvard, pianist, what else–who cares?) but look at his mayoral accomplishments. He has no policy substance, so what does he stand for for the American people? The risk is he will be whatever high dollar donors want him to be. I support all the progressives because collectively they are a force against the conventional corporate democrat messaging that Nancy Pelosi represents–to hold the middle and mediocrity. That was Obama, and we don't need another Obama-wannabe, like Uncle Joe. The status quo does not work for the everyday American. The system is so rigged, and the elites like it that way. So the question is which mediocre candidate will stick in the minds of the uninformed electorate, how can we further do voter suppression, and allow no-paper -erified machine voting.

  • Tony - 5 years ago

I would definitely support Andrew Yang because listening to him I can see that he will work for all the American people & not just for the top 1%. I am a Trump supporter but I haven’t seen much movement in a lot of our Presidents support for “LGBTQ” Advocacy & Rights. I totally respect the work that our President has done & feel very positive on where the country is going, President Trump has done a fine job at keeping his promises to the American people. I just feel that our Commander In Chief has become more of a divider than a Uniter as his Presidency continues. As a Puerto Rican as well, I feel we need a President who is going to stop all the stalling & finally make Puerto Rico a state. Puerto Rican’s are United States Citizens, it is now time for the United States Government to stop treating the Puerto Rican People as second class citizens. If Puerto Rican’s can put their lives on the line for the United States military, then the obvious & right thing to do is finally allow the Puerto Rican people the full rights to Vote for their President & Commander In Chief. We need a President who is willing to be more inclusive & understanding of the rights of every American Citizen, not just what is politically appealing. Being President is earned by the trust of the American people. I truly believe that Andrew Yang could finally be the President that the United States needs so badly to bring everyone together, so our Government can finally start working in tandem & in a bipartisan way. It’s time for the United States Government to make the lives of the American people better as promised in the Constitution. I believe in Andrew Yang, so should the American people & so should the World.

Nothing can stop Andrew Yang except himself. He unites Republicans and Democrats because he understands that the lack of money is the key to most of our problems.

  • Debbie Schrodt - 5 years ago

I watched Marianne Williamson on the CNN Town Hall on Sunday night. I already was a fan of her books and talks. Her ideals and her ideas are lightyears ahead of many of the other candidates. Her thoughts about healing and treating the root of our problems in America really struck a chord with me. I also agree with her that reparations for slavery in America are so important. She has intelligent, thoughtful answers to the toughest questions, I think. I even liked her answer about abortion. She is right, it is a moral issue between women and the God of their understanding, not an issue for the government to oversee. All in all, I do believe we need her in the limelight now and as POTUS to talk about what actions love can take to get us out of the mess America is in.

  • Myles Kelvin - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang is the first candidate that has ever excited me enough to donate to a campaign. He is thoughtful, clever, clear and believable. #yang2020

  • Pam Blue - 5 years ago

I value the intelligent and transparent conversations that Marianne Williamson is having with the American people. She is focused, confident and convicted in her guiding principle of love. I appreciate that I can discover details on specific issues by visiting her website which leads me to trust her. She is willing to commit. She is also able to lift my spirit with her perspective and guide me into informed action on behalf of the greater good which I believe is being called for at this critical time in our country's history. Through her policies and new paradigm leadership, we can preserve our democracy, heal our country and ultimately evolve humanity. Without a doubt she has my complete vote!

  • Kelly - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang's plan would benefit everyone in this Country. He's a candidate who would represent ALL of us, not just some of us.
    #humanityfirst #yang2020

  • Chris Webb - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang is decades ahead of the other candidates. No other candidate is talking about job automation, universal basic income, and the idea of human-centered capitalism. His list of policies is more exhaustive and impressive than any other candidate. I'd love to see him to team up with Bernie.

  • Simone Moore - 5 years ago

Marianne Williamson is the POTUS Candidate who I am supporting! She is brilliant and has the EXPERIENCE that I'm seeking in a President. MW's 35 year career in public service has always been, and is, about the betterment of humankind. She founded Project Angel Food in 1989 https://www.angelfood.org/about-us/history/ and The Peace Alliance in the 2004 https://peacealliance.org/about-us/history/.
MW is the author of many books and has had four NY Times #1 Bestsellers. If you didn't get a chance to see her CNN Town Hall this past Sunday please make it a point to do so. She is bold and dynamic. She dares to tell it like it is, as she knows this is the only way we will be able to transform the dysfunctional state that our country is in. https://www.marianne2020.com/video-posts/marianne-williamsons-cnn-town-hall. Please do yourself a favor and learn more about MW and her platform. Go to https://www.marianne2020.com/ . Thank you! And please donate any dollar amount to help her make it to the DNC June debates.

Andrew Yang was not someone I expected to like as much as I do. I saw an article about Universal Basic Income and how it's a way for the economy to begin valuing the work of parents and care-givers who's work is currently valued at $0. I also like how he thinks we have to change what it means to have a job and recognize that finding meaning from community participation like volunteering is just as important as a wall-street investment banker. As a bonus, he seems to be the only candidate willing to thoroughly lay out his policies and prepared to defend them in extreme detail. Tulsi, Bernie and Buttigieg are good too, but Yang is much more impressive.

  • A - 5 years ago

WHO the fuck is Andrew Yang and WHAT has HE ever done that is noteworthy except have his entire fan club come here and vote. NEVER heard of him! We KNOW he's as far as he's going to get in this race as is that tarot-reader charlatan Marianne Williamson. My vote goes to someone who's NOT playing and is grounded in REALITY - Pete Buttigieg. When INTELLIGENCE counts!

  • Max DeCrosta - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang! He is bringing people from both sides together because he's running on the truth!

  • Betty - 5 years ago

Marianne Williamson has the ability to see the true divide and heal our country. We are broken in ways we have never been broken before. She's been fixing broken her whole life. She is not promising flights of fancy like trump did and many others are. She is real and not making it up as she goes along. She's well read and has instant answers to any questions asked if her. National and international. She is smart and kind but will take any steps necessary to provide safety for Americans. But she knows you get more with honey than vinegar. And in the world stage, we are a big pot of vinegar. We need someone with a vision if peace and wellness rather than hate and unrest. We need a grown women instead if a little boy. Why can't the Dem men step aside this year and give a woman a chance. We have a large field if very accomplished women but nope, white men still rule. (I guess except Yang but I would be very surprised to see him get elected in this anti-diversity country. Same with Buttigieg. And Bernie's people will throw it to trump if they don't get their way. The Democratic party is being held hostage by Bernie. And media is completely playing favorites. Media is deciding who our candidates are thru devisive airtime. Everyone should be getting the same media coverage h or at least all listed as candidates. All voices need to be in the debates. Then let us gear and decide from there. We have not even heard from all but are being asked to decide. So for now, Marianne is the person who has the way to peace.

  • David - 5 years ago

You want a real chance at beating Trump? Vote Yang. He's the only candidate that pulls support from all sides of the political spectrum. He will have former Trump supporters flipping sides to vote blue. He will have 3rd party members vote for him because of his support for Ranked choice voting. Yang is not left, he's not right, Andrew Yang is forward.

  • Peggy - 5 years ago

Marianne Williamson - I have been following her for 30 yrs and have read all of her books. The message she is speaking now is the same she has always given - she is not making up platforms that will fit a run for the presidency. That is why she can give full answers thoughtfully and quickly without notes. That s what she has done in every speech I have ever heard her give. She does not give vague, political answers, and, also tells you why she has the policies she has. What makes her qualified? That she wants to deal with the CORE problems of the issues, and she has years of experience doing that with people, which is what our government is supposed to be for, too, the people, all of us. Electing someone, anyone now, mainly because they have political experience with our current system, is extremely short-sighted.

  • Nate - 5 years ago

Trump is going to win again. He is the best leader of my lifetime. He is pursuing everything he promised.

I have attended lectures by Marianne Williamson and read her books. She is insightful, thorough, and skilled in verbal and written communications. You name the positive quality - she's got it! There's no need to look any further!

    #AndrewYang2020!
-A man who understands economic and have numbers to back it up. Andrew Yang is the only candidate that understands the current situation of the middle class. Andrew Yang so far has an actual plan and policies on his website.
-Andrew Yang gives you something to hold onto, something tangible while other politicians only give you intangible objects that may or may not part of their plan once in the White House. Andrew is facts driven but also has emotion, devotion, and passion to help the middle class. He cares deeply for people who will be displaced by AI and machines.
-$1000 a month + Universal basic income + regulate drug prices + ... many more of his supported policy is on AndrewYang website
    - America, where capitalism does not start at zero! Where one country wellness is not measured by GDP but actual well being of its people.
-Live in the present one can change the future, live in the past one changes nothing.
-Currently, a 4 years university student majoring in Biology planning to enrolls in medical school. 5k debt. Supporting President Yang all the way!

  • Deb Roberts - 5 years ago

Andrew Yang gets why Trump won in 2016. His business start-up mentoring program uncovered a black hole of job losses across the country due to the biggest industrial revolution ever. He found that the more jobs were lost to technology, the more voters supported Trump in the swing states.

Yang is the only candidate with 85+ #Humanity First policies to solve the problems that tipped the election in Trump’s favor. The clear thinking and methodical effort underlying his success in business is shown on yang2020.com/policies and in his book, The War on Normal People, for all to see. No other candidate holds a candle to this, in writing or in person.

No other candidate shines like Andrew Yang in adversarial interviews like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTsEzmFamZ8

He’s quick, responsive, fluent with facts, confident, empathetic and raucously funny. He makes a ton of sense! The skeptical interviewer can’t help but be charmed by him. The CNN Town Hall didn’t do him justice. Andrew Yang will destroy the others in the debates.

Yang’s campaign stands out because it benefits everyone, rich and poor. It attracts support from left, right and center and moves the country forward. The media like to headline his support from White supremacists, but Yang strongly denounces racism and violence in all its forms. The media paint him as a one-issue UBI candidate, and ignore his many other policies in healthcare, education, student loans, criminal justice, the environment, etc. They talk about his hologram campaign strategy, and ignore his presidential character.

A serial entrepreneur, Yang is an active questioner and listener; problem-solver; doer of much with little; motivator; team-leader; truth seeker and teller; unstoppable optimist; and lifelong learner. His clean career record and exemplary life as an Asian American son of immigrants, devoted husband of one wife and dad of two kids -- one with special needs -- qualify him for his role as domestic and world leader, and advocate for the underdog.

Not being an establishment candidate bribed by big-money donors (Yang's donors average $17 each, cheaper than Bernie's!) and not having skeletons in his closet is a huge plus. Polls, schmolls. I'm voting for Yang without reservation. So refreshing to be able to do that!

    #1 - Andrew Yang
    #2 - Trump
I'm a republican and I would switch my vote from Trump to Yang in a heart beat. I like Trump, but Yang is better. He is the only person I would change my vote for. I have heard the same words from my long time republican parents, my friends who all voted for Trump all said they would prefer Yang. Not one person I know personally wanted to switch from Trump, but Yang seems to make everyone THINK about what the future could be like. If Bernie gets nominated, republicans will just vote against him, not really even vote for Trump. Yang is the only person who can beat Trump and thats because he is 100% RIGHT about the problems and the solutions. #Yang2020

  • Allen - 5 years ago

I like yang because he doesn't play the "us vs. them" card that everyone else does. it's just "us."

  • Khary Filer - 5 years ago

I'm 34. For my entire life I've been told that the powerful elite donor class taking over our democracy is an unstoppable force. Universal Basic Income is a REAL counter to that. Andrew Yang is a thought leader running his campaign for the rightest of reasons the other candidates, minus Bernie and Elizabeth Warren in my opinion, are more politically trendy opportunists than they are true social leaders.

I am a Californian that came from poverty and now has a Ph.D. in neuroscience.
I fully support Andrew Yang for President.
My whole lab is Yang Gang now.
    Andrew Yang is real.

Andrew Yang is the only candidate I've seen tackling 21st century problems. I was definitely sold after listening to him on my favorite podcast, Sam Harris' Making Sense. Automation is happening more rapidly than people think. We need to implement ideas to bring us to the next stage of our economy. The other candidates, especially Bernie, are looking at ideas that our not outdated. We need to catch up. We need Andrew Yang.

  • Bryan - 5 years ago

Yang has real solutions for real Americans. He's not afraid to have a discussion with people from all political spectrums. He has his policies clearly laid out for scrutiny and he's open to suggestions. He is will be a president for the people.

  • Yang Gang - 5 years ago

If Bernie won, he'd 80 years old on the day he was sworn in. That's INSANELY irresponsible.

  • Anand S - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang are the best options. They each have their own strengths but I would have to say they are all pretty authentic and actually seem like the reformers we need to move the country forward again. Would love a Tulsi Gabbard ticket and think Mayor Pete might be a smart choice for VP (mostly to help solidify an electoral victory).
    Gabbard/ Buttigieg 2020

  • Andy Tucker - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang or Andrew Yang or Tulsi Gabbard would be an ideal outcome. Mayor Pete needs some actual policies to be taken into consideration.

  • Nick - 5 years ago

Yang is the outsider candidate people thought they were getting with Trump. Yang is a leader because he doesn't wait to see what the issues are, he brings the issues forward and makes a logical decision for a plan.

I'll have to look into Gabbard more based off of this thread but Yang is by far the dark horse.

Beto, Pete, and Booker are indirect on all issues because they are simply waiting to see which sides of the issues have to the most support. They aren't taking a stance because you haven't told them which way yet. If I wanted a robot for president I'd just wait a few years and A.I. will be ready to take another job. Yang2020!

  • Ryan Chase - 5 years ago

Yang is the only logical candidate who can think through the problems and present real solutions. I would love a Yang/Gabbard 2020 ticket!

  • Tom Farley - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard will bring fresh blood from a new generation of voters concerned about the cost of war at home and abroad. A soldier emphasizing service above self is the complete opposite of what we have seen from Trump. Tulsi rocks!

  • Camilla - 5 years ago

Tulsi is the only way to go

  • PJ - 5 years ago

This disabled war veteran has the utmost respect for Andrew Yang. I’ve looked at other candidates and they all have some great points, but when looking at the whole picture, Andrew Yang speaks about issues other candidates have yet to even consider.

  • Shawna - 5 years ago

As a veteran, I strongly support Tulsi. Not only does she have the experience to be Commander-in-chief, she also has the integrity to do what's right. She's not worried about saying what she thinks people want to hear. She is honest and genuine.

  • Tom - 5 years ago

Only Bernie can win and beat Trump.

  • Mark Ecklund - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard appeals to Progressives, Libertarians and Conservatives. She's exactly what we need to heal the divide in this country. Most Americans don't realize it, but we're moving closer and closer to reigniting the Civil War.

  • Mitch - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard and Bernie Sanders are the only serious options. Mike Gravel is great, but he said the only reason he's running is to support Tulsi.

  • Josh Hubble - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard is the only choice I consider for President.
    Why?
    1. Active Military 16 yrs. - President’s Job: Commander in Chief
    2. High moral character and integrity
    3. Member of U.S. Congress - background is impeccable and supports her platform.
    4. Will address our urgent needs immediately - she doesn’t F around.
    5. Personally knows the cost of war. RESPECT. HONOR. She volunteered and was deployed to Iraq.
    6. Hello, DIPLOMAT? YES. We need a woman who knows how to respect foreign leaders. Who can go in and come up with new and different solutions. Who can bring us towards peace.

    - People, yes. Bernie did start the revolution in 2015 that spoke to all of us. TULSI will continue it. At 38 years old she has proven herself by her record and her character.

I trust her. I do not trust Kamala, Yang, Booker, Gillibrand.

  • katie sabin - 5 years ago

If you are worried about Climate Change I would vote for Tulsi since the Military Industrial Complex is the worlds polluter. She has the knowledge of what is going on when it comes to Regime Change and the cost of war.. A true leader

  • Michael Pardus - 5 years ago

Yang's numbers are growing quickly, at the moment he appears to BE the front runner in your poll ( 6 votes higher than Bernie). Andrew Yang has more vision, intellect, and tenacity to solve problems than any candidate I've seen in my life (I started following politics in 1966). In my opinion, he's the perfect Anti-Trump - every-time he opens his mouth, something SMART comes out.

  • Denise Guggenheim - 5 years ago

Tulsi's experience in the military and as a congresswoman gives her the intelligence and strength to speak the truth for people of this country and all countries. We would be most fortunate to have her lead and care for all people. Whenever she speaks her integrity comes thru.

  • Jose - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard is the true frontrunner, she has the American people interest at heart. Everyone else is a corporate sellout, except Bernie. In a debate, Tulsi is the only one that would be able to handle Trump.

  • Nathan Corliss - 5 years ago

Just watched Andrew Yang's CNN town hall today, and I am doubling down my support for him. As crazy as it sounds to give all Americans $1000/month, I think he did a great job not only outlining why it's possible, but also why we need it. I also think it's cool he has so many well crafted ideas on his website's policy page.

I will definitely be supporting Andrew Yang in the primaries.

Tulsi Gabbard has the courage, and experience with actions, that is the best candidate I've ever seen. Tulsi is the only candidate I trust for the now and the future.

  • Anna Matthews - 5 years ago

Tulsi Gabbard shows courage. Her message of a Peace Dividend is good common sense. Save $ by ending regime change wars that are hurting our troops, civilians in the countries we are fighting in, and our own national security and economy, and bring $ back home to invest in our crumbling infrastructure. She supports MedicareForAll, EducationForAll, and introduced OffAct to get America off fossil fuels and on to a Green future.

  • Lori - 5 years ago

I am most excited by Tulsi Gabbard. I appreciate her calm thoughtful manner and her willingness to take positions that she believes to be correct even if it costs her. I find her to be a person of integrity. I like that she is willing to look at all sides of
an issue before making a decision. I agree with the majority of her policy positions.
