Birdman is the clear winner here. The use of sound alone is a remarkable feat. This film is a must contender for 2010s. I am surprised to see it even shortlisted.

My gut just says Birdman, I have seen both only once and decided if I were forced to choose to sit and see either of these again I was more intrigued with the thought of seeing Birdman.

Innaritu is no doubt a great filmmaker and the cinematography in both those films are outstanding. I choose The Revenant because it at least tells a coherent story about revenge whereas Birdman has nothing really to say and I hate every character in that film.

I voted for The Revenant because it is less insufferable, but shouldn't there be a 'Neither' option for this poll???

Iñarritu is one of my favourite working directors and I'm a little bit sad that he doesn't get much love on the show. I think both are great movies but for me Birdman is truly one of the best movies of the decade and more than just a gimmick. Saying that, I will vote Birdman although I would put both movies in the shortlist.

    Love from Portugal

Both of these movies are bad, but only one of them is insufferable, so I guess I'll go with the bear one

Where’s the option for “neither merits inclusion in any best-of list and both deserve to be heaved in the furnace alongside everything else Inarritu has ever made”?

Not sure why it’s even a question if Birdman should be shortlisted! It should be seeded. It’s great and a sweet 16 contender surely.

    Neither.

    Birdman, for the win.

Not only is Birdman a great film, I just revisited it this week after extolling its virtues to some co-workers. Haven't heard anyone recommend the Revenant since it came out.

Pick the one with staying power.

The masterpiece of Birdman vs. the beautiful but meh Oscar grab for Leo? I think the choice is obvious here. Birdman is still a film I constantly think of. Revenant is one I bought to show off my 4k TV and that's it.
