Andrew has also played varsity football for three years as a two way starter, earned a trench trophy nomination and played 95 percent of the downs throughout his High School career. He is a serious weight lifter and very dedicated to everything he does. He also wrestled one season and took fourth at sectionals earning a green patch. Thank you to everyone voting for Andrew. Just an update to his story submitted by his coach. Andrew broke his own school record again at the Cattaraugus Chautauqua Athletic Association's Meet of Champions with at a shot put throw on 49' 8inches and then again at State Qualifiers with a throw of 50' 1.25inches which earned him a section vi red patch in division two schools. He also earned the Sportsmanship Award for the CCAA, First Team CCAA and the MVP Award for his Team. He is ranked in the top six for WNY in shot put for both division 1 and 2 schools. The amazing part is this is only Andrew's second season of throwing for Boys Outdoor Track and Gowanda Track Coach Benton has no one that specializes in throwing. Coach Benton coaches the team alone for all events. It has been an amazing season and senior year for Andrew. Andrew is ranked sixth in his class and was named to Section VI Scholar Athlete for Track and Field. Thank you for your continued support and keep voting.
