This isn’t the dark ages anymore, a woman has the right to make decisions for her own health and body regardless of whatever any religion has to say about it.
Abortions are still going to happen legal or not - doctors availability or not. We absolutely do need doctors who can safely perform abortions so that girls aren’t forced to do who knows what to themselves to terminate unwanted pregnancies.
Access to safe abortions is necessary, women’s reproductive rights need to be protected by government. Don’t let Guam turn into Alabama and developing nations where women, even in cases of RAPE and INCEST, will be forced to undergo pregnancy. Young women on Guam have already spoken out about the men who raped them, would you force a 12-year old to bear the child of their rapist? So many other things we need to fix and address before forcing all women to have kids they can’t have, don’t want, or can’t afford: Guam public schools don’t even teach sex ed, Guam has a high teen pregnancy rate, we have a high infant mortality rate, healthcare and access to affordable birth control, welfare, the many children in foster care who are currently losing their insurance. Decriminalize abortion, religion stay out of it.
I hope these prayers are effective as they have been for gun violence in this country. Women's rights are human rights.
It’s my body so it’s my choice. I don’t care if you disagree with the fact that I may one day need to terminate a pregnancy for the health and well-being of myself just because it goes against your religion. Stop pushing your religion onto others.
