DeMonte Martin, Eastern York, senior: The wide receiver was incredible in football season, catching 61 seasons for 1,018 yards and 21 touchdowns. He led the YAIAA in receptions and receiving touchdowns. In basketball, Martin was a first-team Division II all-star after averaging 14 ppg for the division champions. He then picked up two gold medals in the 110 and 300 hurdles at the YAIAA track and field championships. He took second at the District 3 Class 3A meet in the 110 hurdles to qualify for states. He’ll be playing football at Robert Morris University next season. 46% (10,930 votes)
Cole Witman, York Catholic, senior: He led York Catholic to a District 3 Class 2A title in football, rushing for 768 yards and 15 touchdowns in nine games. He missed four games due to a team decision. In the spring, he was a first-team YAIAA midfielder, scoring 60 goals and 48 assists for a team that went undefeated in the regular season and finished 19-3. He’ll be playing lacrosse at the University of Tampa. 41% (9,552 votes)
Eli Workinger, Red Lion, senior: Maybe the most unique football player in the YAIAA. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Workinger caught 28 passes for 454 yards and six touchdowns as an H-back, registered 136 tackles at linebacker and booted a 49-yard field goal as the league’s best kicker. He was named Division I Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a star lacrosse player who was named first-team attack in the YAIAA after scoring 55 goals and 38 assists. He will play football for Millersville University next season. 4% (889 votes)
Braden Richard, Central York, senior: The 6-foot-5 Richard was good on the basketball court and tremendous on the volleyball court. In hoops season, he was the leading scorer (11.3 ppg) for a team that went 18-8. In volleyball, he was an All-American and arguably the best player in the state, racking up more than 400 kills and 120 blocks as Central York won the District 3 title reached the PIAA Class 3A title game. He will continue his volleyball career at St. Francis University. 2% (430 votes)
Alex McClellan, West York, senior: He was a first-team Division II all-star in soccer for the co-YAIAA champs, and frequently scored goals in big games. He then established himself as one of the best basketball players in the league, averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3 assists as West York went 18-7 and reached the YAIAA and District 3 playoffs after two straight losing seasons. The 6-foot guard was clearly the team’s go-to player. He also played volleyball in the spring. He’ll be playing basketball at Penn State Altoona. 2% (391 votes)
Raymond Christas, Dallastown, senior: He was the best lineman in the YAIAA – on both sides of the ball. As a center, Christas helped two players rush for 1,00 yards, and registered 49 tackles and 6.5 sacks on defense despite always being the attention of opposing offenses. As a heavyweight in wrestling, he went 42-4 and won 25 bouts by pin. He finished second in District 3 Class 3A and won a fifth-place state title. He will play football at East Stroudsburg University. 2% (371 votes)
Nate Wilson, Northeastern, junior: Wilson excelled in both basketball and volleyball. In hoops, he averaged 13.8 ppg as the leading scorer for a young Bobcats team that reached the state playoffs. An outside hitter in volleyball, he helped Northeastern reach the PIAA Class 3A semifinals, racking up 481 kills, 196 digs and a 46% kill percentage in 123 sets. He has verbally committed to play volleyball at Ohio State University. 2% (367 votes)
Evan Brady, Delone Catholic, senior: He was the starting quarterback for a Delone Catholic team that finished 10-2, throwing for over 1,100 yards and 17 touchdowns while also serving as a standout safety. In basketball, he averaged 20 points and topped 1,300 for his career. He scored 44 in the final game of his career in the District 3 playoffs. He also played tennis for the first time and reached the YAIAA quarterfinals. 1% (229 votes)
Abdul Janneh, New Oxford, junior: A three-sport athlete, Janneh caught 29 passes for 465 yards and eight touchdowns in football season. He was at his best in basketball, averaging 16.3 points and 7.1 rebounds while establishing himself as one of the top defenders in the league. He was a first-team league all-star and led New Oxford to the YAIAA title game. He also took fourth in the long jump at the YAIAA track and field championships. 1% (208 votes)
Zach Ketterman, Gettysburg, junior: A three-sport athlete who expects to play baseball at the collegiate level. Ketterman was the starting quarterback for a Warriors team that won the YAIAA Division II title, throwing for more than 900 yards and seven touchdowns while missing a couple games. He was a starter for Gettysburg in basketball, but really shined in baseball. The 6-foot02 shortstop batted .308 with a .415 on-base and 18 stoles bases. He posted a 1.25 ERA as a pitcher. He has verbally committed to play baseball at Western Carolina University. 1% (199 votes)
