I agree about 100% with Jud Freeman's comment. For the owner who wants a toy to be fun to drive a stick very important. It may not be faster, but it's a LOT more fun to drive and that's what many sports car enthusiasts want. Hope it happens!

Yes, we all know that the auto/DCT-equipped cars are quicker over a short distance, but not necessarily faster. There is a difference. For a street car that small difference is not really noticeable for normal driving. And manual transmissions are simpler, more reliable and give the driver more connectivity with the car on the street. Track rats are a different matter. If Chevy wants the C8 to be a big success, it needs to have both transmissions available, and that would differentiate it from the other true competitors

Maybe make a manual available as a option on the lower powered cars, but DCT only on the super performance models.

Corvettes are, and always have been, wonderful toys, not four door sedans for commuting. REAL Corvette enthusiasts overwhelmingly prefer the stick, which is most definitely more fun to drive! The real question is
whether or not Chevrolet will be foolish enough to alienate the above stated 41.67% of us who prefer the manual transmission. I have owned many Corvettes, all purchased new, all with manuals. Should there be no stick offered on the C8s, I WON'T BUY ONE, but will opt for a restored mid-1960's Vette instead. This will have a 427 and a four speed, AND NO DEPRECIATION!! If I'm going to shell out $80K+ for a toy, I want it the way I want it!!
I'm not buying one if there is no stick. Period
