To expand on what I said in the voterizer, I use Nomacs* to reduce the size of the cellphone pix I put in my blog. It shows the pixel size and you can specify what the new size should be. I usually go 2180->1090, which takes 1.6MB down to 800kb. It also has a "Save for Web" option that will take a 1.6MB photo down to 88kb. Adds a minute or two per pic to your processing time.
