What should Chargers do with RB Melvin Gordon?

TT has already decided to move on from MGIII when he made the disrespectful lowball offer. MGIII should be worth at least $12 mil/yr, which is still below the 4-yr $60 mil deal Gurley (picked ahead of MGIII in the 2015 draft) got and the 3-year $39 mil signed by David Johnson (taken after him in the same draft class) regardless of his injury history, much of which is due to unnecessarily overplaying him anyway like in the ARIZ game last season.

Be that as it may, the Chargers should not re-sign him because they have deep backfield comprised of talented - and much more cost-effective - RB's ready to take over in Ekeler, Jackson and Newsome. The running game may still see a drop-off in production without MGIII, but not enough to justify paying him what he's worth given other pending FA's the Chargers have to address including Rivers, Bosa, Okung, Ingram and King.

Nothing against MGIII and I wish him all the luck with his next team, but it's simply "business" that his tenure with the Chargers is over.

Pay him around 10 mil a year and if he doesn’t want that trade him for a draft pick we have to many contracts coming up to give him a big one when he can’t provide us multiple 16 game seasons
