Should truck stops impose time limits for shower use?

Are you kidding, alot of parking is now reserved parking, cannot idle in places, pay high rates for laundry(works only half of the time) cannot smoke in other places, barely get time to shower and when i do, gotta shave, get scrubbed for for next time. Plus, it is a moment to enjoy. Time limit, yeah gotta be done within your 10hr break. Let's worry about more parking, better service, and cleaner facilities first.

Us drivers pay for showers 15.00$$ they don't give them out for free they ever did

We can always share the shower with someone else. We help each other get clean faster and save time.

What y'all stupid motherfuccers need to do is worry about getting a better fuccing job than worrying about how long we ficcing shower. What the fucc is wrong with you dumb bytches. Lazy Bastards. Nothing but those stupid bytches who work at the truccstop bringing it up.

No there should not be time limits. Some of us are husband and wife teams using 1 shower. While she showers I shave and brush teeth, then I shower while she brushes her teeth and dries her hair then puts on her makeup (she is still a lady and wants to be presentable). Not to mention that not all of us are as young and as quick as we used to be, so it takes more time than it used too!

Like me, I shower every day therefore am not usually that dirty so my showers are kind of fast...now I have seen some absolutely horribl looking men and women that don't look like they have showered in a month and smell to high heaven they may have to be limited to 30 or 40 minutes

Really trucking is one of the hardest job that not everyone will do it and they got DOT all over their behind , shippers and warehouse are not always the courteus places they or we got regulations coming from all sides not to forget we put our life in danger everyday so that those groceries get to your market. and you are still complaining how long a shower should last. REALLY??? let the American trucker take a shower. PLEASE!!!

Etiquette?? You mean uncommon courtesy. See it atleast a 100 a day . What would make you think the shower would be any different. Drivers park on the fuel island for there 30 minute brake.

They should be more concerned with trucks speeding they the truckstops, taking out all the fast food crap and giving us back out diners for decent food. And stop ripping off the truckers on fuel and store bought items.

Must have been a liberal that came up with this hair brained idea, as it stinks to high heaven. Pardon the pun. According to my nose, while visiting truck stops thru the years, a large portion of drivers have not, will not, don't know how to shower! PERIOD! By imposing a time limit on those drivers wno are trying to figure out why they stink and how to rid themselves of said stench, truck stops will undoubtedly squash any and all thought about using that little room with all that running water, fresh towels and soap! Hell no don't put a time limit on truck stop showers! I have to scrub myself twice as long to make up for all those foul smelling, third world, clueless, sub-humans driving trucks as it is now!! Install more showers and training showers for the "shower challenged" masses out there!

Taking care of your hygiene is difficult enough without a timer. Many times it can turn into several days between due to dispatch appointments, being dispatched, location having showers, cost, etc. Only those who are taking showers will respond to this question.

i think so let's start with first designate 2 or 3 parking spot's for guy's fueling, shower & food to go put a time on park time for thoese sports it would be nice to do all 3 & go say hour 20 hour 30 max biggest problem there keeping thoese spots free i swear some guys will park on the front law if they can and at some T/S you can tell

This question is really stupid, some drivers are so obese that it DOES take an hour just to get half clean, although I am not in that category, I do enjoy the ONE thing in my profession that gives me comfort, a real good high pressure shower, every other day, without being "timed" we spend way more than we should with the "jacked up prices, as well as reserved parking, ect. " And" pay for the showers. Our days are already timed by computers, why add to that misery to hard working men and women.
    So, the answer is NO.

  • Chris - 5 years ago

What the hell are we gonna put a timer on the shitter too .? Leave us drivers alone

  • Billy Whisneant - 5 years ago

Some people can shower very quickly and do at home. Other just take longer and use a few minutes to relax in a good hot shower. Other times husband and wives share the shower room because it's easier to carry in 1 suitcase. Leave shower times alone.

My drivers either pay for the shower or earn them as part of loyalty rewards, now someone is going to tell us that there’s some arbitrary limit on a basic necessity that we’ve paid for? Anyway, I don’t know that long showers are the issue but in fact the driver to available shower ratio.

  • David Strader - 5 years ago

This would have all kinds of issues; who would time, when would time start, how would someone notify individual, what would they do to stop shower time, and if individual went over time limit.Hell they can’t get people of the fuel island that are taking their break, or inside eating, shower, or sleeping currently. Much less parked where they shouldn’t.
