AN EYE FOR AN EYE. A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH. If you have been convicted and sentenced for life, theres a dam good reason. The tax payers should not have to pay for the life sentencing of someone who does not deserve to live in this world. Death should be the only option left.

A person sentenced to death has already gone through a trial by the people. The decision and sentence have been handed down to the accused and we have laws that state the consequences for those crimes. Too many times these criminals “sit” on death row for years while those that have been affected by their actions have to wait. At what point do we as a people say enough to the seemingly endless appeals and delays that allow this to happen? Many of these death row inmates spend years incarcerated before they exhaust their allowed amount of appeals and are “eligible” to be put to death. Why? I understand the laws state no “cruel or unusual” punishment, but the heinous crimes that allow this decision to even be brought up are already “cruel and unusual”. If we are to take an “eye for an eye” approach, as this sentence states, remove the delays allowed and reinstate the firing squad. The risk for a “botched” execution, as many opponents have to the use of the death penalty, will be eliminated. Have it be a sentence that fits the crime. Give the victims a chance for closure and forgiveness by not drawing a horrible situation out for many years or even decades. In my opinion, that is more of a cruel and unusual punishment against the victims who have already had to deal with the crimes against them. Do not draw out this sentence that the people have handed down to the guilty by allowing the victims to suffer for longer is reasonable in the eyes of the law.

Those that have been sentenced to death most times in likely deserve it. Hence they need to put to death not sit in a 8x6cell waiting for it. It costs more to hold them than it does to actually do the deed by putting them to death. Every year it cost millions jus to keep those people alive than to finish the punishment that they were sentenced to death for. I say do it and finish the job not waste fundings and resources keeping them alive.
