If someone wants to get into Toni Morrison, I highly recommend the recent documentary TONI MORRISON: THE PIECES I AM (2018) https://www.tonimorrisonfilm.com/ It has been playing in theatres but it's an American Masters film so it will be coming to PBS soon. Society has a tendency to assign famous people ONE role or ONE personality, especially after they pass. The doc was a good illustration that she was more than A Writer. If you don't want to get into Toni Morrison, that's okay too. There's so much content out here, people should do what feels comfortable for them.
