My vote leaned toward "no" because I didn't care if the lady was dragged off by the cop. And I didn't care that the protagonist was fearful of the cop. Even the three-year-old little girl treated so roughly could not enterest me; although, I did want to know why. The cop was the best character because he the tough and the small dialogue fit him well. I need a stronger protagonist (I don't mean standing up to the cop). Is there a hint of vengeance in her against the cop? The narration seems to suggest she has not seen him for some time; maybe if she had to avoid him daily or something like that the hate grew in her I might be more interested,
