I cannot think of one single instance in at least the last the last 3 years where the "Deputy Leader" has acted in any way shape or form in defending, supporting or promoting Jeremy Corbyn as the best prospective prime minister the Labour movement has had in years. For this reason alone but for a few others too, iwould like to see Watson gone. Amen

I want him gone, i really want him gone, but I had to vote No because you said leaving aside any other behaviour and I beleive he was only trying to help the guy who has just gone to prison, so I cant condemn him for that, But please resign Watso.

Although I think he should resign due to his constant undermining of Corbyn, I think Watson only used the abuse allegation scandal for his own ends to elevate himself.

+1 Ellie Mc on all counts.
Exactly what I came here to say.
Like the Brexit referendum this issue is more nuanced than a simple yes or no.
For that reason and despite wanting him gone from politics - I'm not voting.

Watson did what he always does , jumps at a chance for self-promotion . He didn't check the "facts" presented to him , or the nature of his informant ( a vital factor ) , and stood behind someone else to throw stones . Someone so easily manipulated shouldn't be an MP , let alone Deputy Leader . He has no defence .

I think he should resign yes for a multitude of other reasons, but in my view he was doing the right and necessary thing regarding the child abuse allegation.

Though I think he should resign because he's not compatible with Labour values, this cockup by the Mets is NOT his fault. This was an investigative and professional failure of the police.

"Tommy from Kidderminster", on multiple occasions, has brought our Party into disrepute.
He will continue to do so, as long as he remains in office, as Dupty Leader.

Tom Watson should resign for other reasons ie bringing the Party into disrepute. Lack of support for the leader when he is accused wrongly of anti-Semitism etc
Ellie Mc - 5 years ago
If there’s evidence that he deliberately & knowingly pursued false allegations then not only should he resign but he should stand trial for the part he played, but without damning evidence I wonder what effect it would have in the future for officials to act upon criminal activity they have been made aware of ????
But let’s face it there are a multitude of reasons he should resign

Yes he should have resigned a long time ago.
