  Keep Kreider, extend contract for three years and give him the “C”. Trade Fast and Vlad for cap space. Staal should have been bought out or traded. Definitely by the end of the season

  you dont name a captain as a way to "buy time" before naming another captain.
  Staal should not be a captain if thats the justification for it
