Dayton - Dayton gave Jesse Herbst his first win as head coach with a 36-12 win over rival Bellevue, snapping a five-game losing streak to the Tigers. It marked the most points Dayton has scored against Bellevue in regulation since a 43-0 win in 1996 (Dayton scored 40 in an overtime loss in 2017). 31% (1,817 votes)

Walton-Verona - Walton-Verona picked up its first win of the season by beating Holy Cross 17-0. It is the 28th shutout by Jeff Barth in his 11 years as head coach, and the 15th since the beginning of the 2017 season. 20% (1,170 votes)

Covington Catholic - The Covington Catholic defense has been dominant so far this season, not allowing a point. In Friday’s 49-0 win over Campbell County, the Colonels limited the Camels to negative-47 yards offense for the game. That was largely due to seven sacks for the Colonels. 15% (904 votes)

Boone County - Boone County is 2-0 for the first time since the 2011 after beating Paul Laurence Dunbar. Boone County had won just six games in the seven previous seasons after reaching the state semifinals in 2011. 9% (538 votes)

Lawrenceburg – The Tigers beat Taylor in a dominant fashion, 34-0, behind Garrett Yoon’s 46-yard touchdown run and his two passing touchdowns to Dahya Patel. 8% (455 votes)

Cooper – The Jaguars are off to a strong start after winning their second game, 13-7, over Newport Central Catholic. Jeremiah Lee rushed for 92 yards on 13 carries, catching four passes for 72 yard and having a 60-yard kickoff return, and the defense had two interceptions. 7% (433 votes)

Newport - Newport is off to a 2-0 start after a 38-6 win over Brossart. Senior Kaleal Davis threw for 163 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 136 yards and three scores, while making five tackles and a fumble recovery on defense. 7% (407 votes)

Ryle - The Raiders responded to last week’s loss to Covington Catholic with a dominating win over rival Conner, 34-10, avenging a loss to the Cougars during last year’s 2-9 campaign. 3% (190 votes)
