What do you think of the V&A Dundee?

A hideous blot on the landscape totally dwarfing the only real attraction, RRS Discovery. Hardly worth the visit with very few free exhibits and extortionate charges to see the rest of the site. Inundated by school kids who are probably bussed in to boost the visitor figures. Dundee could have spent its money so much better.

Agree with Muriel, just an overpriced cafe and lack of exhibits. Poor parking for visitors and those close by extortionate charges. Also most visitors out with the city.do not venture into the city therefore no advantage for local shops/ cafe's, plus the hideous buildings opposite does it no favours.

Lovely on the outside but a huge disappointment on the inside. Lack of exhibits, lots of unused space overpriced entry to specific exhibitions. Not even a nice cafe to sit in. Overpriced and served coffee in takeaway cups etc. Better going to Discovery Point.
Come on Dundee, this could be a fantastic muse space if you fill it with the right exhibits.

While on a recent holiday to Edinburgh, we decided to travel to Dundee for a visit to the V&A. Was very surprised to find next to nothing to view and the people of Scotland must be raging at wasting £83m on a building serving no purpose once word gets around the tourist industry and social media.

Looks like every child at school is being made to visit this 'museum' to boost the attendance numbers as it was really not busy as all without them.

Took 4 hours return travel from Edinburgh, with only 25 minutes required to tour the V&A including 10 mins talking to fellow visitors about how we could not believe we wasted a day on this.

The only discovery we made in Dundee was that we felt conned by the V&A leaflet.

Truly awful. As a museum it's practically empty with the whole of the bottom floor being used as a cafe and an over priced gift shop. Takes 20 mins to look round max. The McManus is a far better museum and far better looking building. Only good thing is people will come because of the hype which means other attractions in Dundee will benefit as they try and fill their day with something better to do after the disappointment of the V&A. £83 million? Can only presume the designer laughed all the way to the bank.

Jewel in the crown of Dundee.
