Oh, there have been pop culture references to the Kindle for years now!

Back in 2009, there was an episode of Dollhouse where they talked about a judge "throwing the Kindle" at someone instead of "throwing the book" at them.

One thing that I find really cool/disorienting: I'll be reading a book on my kindle (something I do for 5 or more hours every day), and a character makes reference to his kindle :-). I guess the kindle now qualifies as a pop culture icon?
