This is a good year to poll like this imo. The Series 4 was a significant update. By comparison the 5 isn’t an update at all, but *does* have always on which, for some folks, is a “game changer”
Personally I don’t care about AOD, and last year upgraded to a stainless 4, so fall into the “skipping 5”. Category. I suspect that the bulk of the folks choosing to go to the 5 are coming from 0-3.
Would have been interesting if the poll captured whether or not you were upgrading from a 4 to see just how widespread the “game changer” view of AOD really is

No way would I order one when apple
Have gone backwards! Removing the much superior OLED screen for a LCD! come on Apple stop thing to save money and passing it off as a feature! Always on screen!

These sorts of polls are semi-meaningless because they just sort themselves automatically by the socioeconomic abilities of the voter. So of course “buy nothing” is up top and ceramic is on the bottom. Wealthy people afford the best, low income people afford nothing, and everything in between is based on what you can afford too. It doesn’t say a damned thing about the relative appeal of the different materials.

Would have already placed an order but seems like the Finnish store does not offer the titanium case and I can’t find it in any other place either. Wish to get the titanium since I don’t like the glossy look and titanium is the best way to go for a watch I plan to use for both sports and dressing up occasions. Anyone by the way knows why the titanium model does not appear as a choice outside the US?

It's not worth the cost of upgrading from Series 4, especially since the trade-in value of the Series 4 (stainless steel) is only $110. I'll wait for the Series 6, and then decide if that one is worth the upgrade.

I have the four, there’s no reason to upgrade at this time. It’ll have the same watchOS update. And Apple could turn on the always on feature for this is they really wanted to. I really don’t want the always on feature anyways. I bet it’ll drain the battery quicker.

I mean, I had pre-ordered the new Apple watch 5 after thinking about what materials it should be made of

Due to lucky circumstances I won a series 0 in 2016. In all these years it‘s always been a nice to have but I could live without it. It‘s too expensive for what I use it for.

@Kyung Yoon,
You know that to have a glucose sensor, it would have to pierce your skin as the only current way to measure glucose is with a blood sample

Only reason I ordered it was Sprint gave me 50% off

I need a new MacBook Pro. Before I get a new watch

I’m not looking for an always-on display and the iPhone already has a compass. I’m never in a situation where I have only my watch and not my phone, which is the same reason I don’t have a cellular Apple Watch. This is not a worthy upgrade for anyone who already has a Series 4, and I think Apple knows that.

I’d love to have one but can’t afford it.

Maybe its my age (74) but I just don't feel the need to upgrade since my iPad 10.5, iPhone 8+, and Apple Watch 3 are all much more than I ever thought Id own in my lifetime. The technology is amazing. Upgrading would mean parting with my three friends that have been so loyal. Plus if I'd upgrade my wife and daughter would be after me to upgrade too.

When you get right down to it the smart watch is still just a geeky toy. Call me when or if it evolves into something the masses can not live without.

No, just got the 4 and there’s not much of an upgrade here.

I’m upgrading from the Apple Watch 2. Unfortunately, my choice which is the Ceramic watch isn’t for preorder in Ireland yet, so I’ll settle for the Aluminium version. (You missed a trick there Apple).

Didn't need pricey stainless or ceramic

I am disappointed because no glucose detector.
I wonder when it is coming.
