Are you buying the new AirPods Pro?

The reason bought the first gen AirPods in January of 2019, was because of the convenience of them, second gen wasn't enough to make me buy them, but when the Pro's came out, the idea of active noise cancellation at this size and convenience, I had to get them. I've always wanted the Bose QC35's but I didn't want to lug them around.

I bought gen1 of the AirPods and after a frustrating time with a good seal (best when I inverted them) I gave them away. Why Apple think everyone’s lughole is the same size is a mystery to me. I put it down to laziness. I’m going to give the news ones a try since now there’s a chance I can get a good seal - pointless having any kind of noise suppression otherwise.

I’ll wait till the 2nd gen pros come out as I have literally just bought the 2nd gen AirPods

I have a 1st gen, and the fit to my ear is terrible; the only way I can get a remotely possible fit is to reverse them (i.e., left one in my right ear, and vice versa). I read that Apple will let you try them on in the store, but don't know whether that's true. If it is, I'll try them with all three tips, and if there's a good fit, I'll probably buy them.

Also, there's a software option to test fit; if I can't try them in the store, and if there's a return policy, I may get them, and if they can't fit, I'd return them.

    Otherwise, I won't buy them.

Unlike the original versions I would consider it, but not seeing these on the horizon at the time I already bought the Powerbeats Pro (with at least some passive noise blocking for my subway commute) so I'm good for a few years.

Too many other options available. I have a pair of Sudios that are amazing. All they lack is a locate option if I drop one. The sound is amazing.

€280 for a pair of non-recyclable, eco-hostile buds that I would have to replace in 2 years because of non-removable batteries, „OK“ sound and limited to no touch controls for things such as volume changing, just to look hip/fancy and all?
    I will pass, thanks!

No thanks. I had the first generation AirPods, and though they lasted originally for about 4 hours, they've since gotten to the point where they crap out after about an hour, and they often seemed to miss the contact at the bottom of the case. Aggravating to say the least. Also, after switching to Android, I could never quite figure out why Apple couldn't have implemented some more of the gestures for Android... except... you know, Apple's gonna Apple. Anyways, I just pulled the trigger on some Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus buds, and I'll be using those going forward.

I'd love to try them, but I already have a pair of 1st gen. APs that still last an hour or so when playing music, and a 2nd gen. pair that are only a couple of months old. I'll wait until that battery degrades in the 2nd gen pair before ordering a pair of the pros. (As always, technology marches on. It'd be nice to be rich enough to march along with it step by step, instead of running to catch up every once in a while.)

It's a question geared toward stupid people: "are you buying the airpod pro?" they're not even out! how can anyone smart decide if they will buy them before trying them or reading quality reviews?

  • Mason - 4 years ago

I'll wait a few years for the next big thing to come out, then I'll buy these when they go on sail. That's what I did with apple Watch. I don't need the latest and greatest, I need something I like at an affordable price point. Thus I'll be waiting for a while.

I left my gen1 Airpods when I left my former employer and have been struggleing with cables ever since. I tried some other bluetooh ones but the sound quality and pairing has been issues. I am a audiophile though. So I ordered the Pros immedietly I saw the news. The fit with silicones will just that solve a lot of bass and fitting stuff. Adding NC and improved sound quality made it a no brainer. I hope that the sound will be much better but will accept ”an improvment” also. The price doesn’t really matter that much due to I view it as a productivity enhancement over 1 year. And with a absolute no hassle pairing and up/down in the pocket during the day it’s an easy choice for making me focusing on phone calls and Teams meetings and not trying to hear my customers and collegues.

Im going to wait to see results. I have the original AirPods, Bose QC 20s, and the new Sony WF-1000MX3s. Im not as happy with the Sonys as I hoped to be, so will need to see what the new AirPod reviews look like before dropping another chunk of change on a 4th pair of earphones lol

  • Jon - 4 years ago

you can get the sony ones for 230$, so this apple ones is stupid.

  • Greg - 4 years ago

Not at this price I’m not. I’ll stick with the ones I’ve already bought.

  • Matthew - 4 years ago

I will purchase them when they come out in a color other than white.

  • Elijah - 4 years ago

Honestly no. I have a first gen pair, and while I actually LOVE the idea of these new ones, I’m not buying another pair until I can get them in black. I think the white looks dumb on me (I put a skin on mine to make them black) and I’m not the only one who would appreciate a contrasting color. I’m not even asking for green or gold (although those would be nice). A nice matte black/dark grey finish would make these an easy buy for me. Until that happens I’m sticking with what I have.

I’ve had two pairs of noise cancelling headphones - Bose QC20 and Bose QC35 II. For me, the in-ear 20s we’re far better at noise cancelling and I miss the in ear. The 35s are great headphones all around but don’t fit snug on my head and ended up being bigger than I wanted to transport. So, the AirPod Pros are the best of both worlds. In fact, I just sold my QC35s to buy the AirPods.

Until they make them with replaceable batteries, I'm not buying AirPods. (Yes, I know other companies make earbuds without replaceable batteries; I won't buy those either.)
This should not be disposable technology.

Couldn't resist, immediately ordered the 1st gen, same for these as my originals are getting old. I've always hated in-ear buds, but Apple specifically says they built them to feel comfortable like there is nothing there. That's exactly what they did with the original AirPods, made them light and non-intrusive. I believe 2 week return period applies to these as well?

  • Bob - 4 years ago

No. In-ear headphones/earbuds don't fit in my ear canals.

  • Ken - 4 years ago

Yes, Ordered them today. Had the original AirPods got them stolen got gen 2 will give them to my Granddaughter
As I have not used them.

  • David A Hysom - 4 years ago

I'll buy them when I can plug them in. I've never had an earphone that didn't fall out of my ear at some point. Not going to spend $$$ for something I'll lose. BRING BACK THE JACK! I've loved my past iPhones, but am no a happy pixel 3a user.

  • Ben - 4 years ago

I'll have to try them in store first to see how they sound.

  • Franklin Marder - 4 years ago

I'll wait for the reviews and if they are good I will wait until they go on sale as I already own the current AirPods.

  • Brad - 4 years ago

I just ordered a pair today. Should have them around Nov 4. I expect much better sound and overall enjoyment to the already amazing AirPods experience.

  • Iskandar - 4 years ago

Still using my 2nd Gen and I’m loving it so far. Don’t see the need to purchase the “pro” version for now.

  • Ross - 4 years ago

I am happy with current AirPods. When the new ones go on sale I’ll prob pick them up.
