Who should be Central Wisconsin prep athlete of the week for Dec. 2-7?
Gavin Drexler, Stratford wrestling: The sophomore finished with a 5-0 record at 132 pounds at his team’s own invitational. Drexler won all five of his matches by pin in a combined time of 5 minutes, 29 seconds.
Cameron Ford, Athens basketball: The senior had 32 points and 12 rebounds in a 68-55 victory over Newman Catholic. He also had 30 points and 13 rebounds in a 79-44 victory over Abbotsford.
Gabe Krueger, Wausau East basketball: The senior scored 40 points and had nine rebounds in an 81-66 victory over Green Bay East. He made 18 of 20 shots from the field. It was the second consecutive big game for Krueger, who scored 45 points against Ashland on Nov. 30.
Sarah Mueller, Pacelli basketball: The senior had a career-high 41 points and added 15 rebounds in a 67-50 victory over Rosholt. Mueller scored 31 points in the first half. She also had 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 63-23 win over Port Edwards.
Julia Seidel, Newman Catholic basketball: The senior scored 21 points to lead the Cardinals to a 59-30 victory over Athens. Seidel went over 1,000 career points in the game. She also had 14 points in a 62-37 loss to Wausau West.
