First, please accept prayers and supportive energy for your recent loss.
Tyler’s fare has not ever been my flavor. NO shade, I have sampled it several times at multiple family gatherings, college dorms, and barbershops across country. The 70s blaxploitation films and 90s hood films, filled my pallet before I had a chance to save room for Medea’s offerings.
Perry’s personal story, success, philanthropy, and his providing opportunities for others are an inspiration.
But my opinion of his home cookin is still:
‘Macaroni soggy, peas all mushed,
and chicken taste like wood’

I won't front, I used to dog people who liked his stories, calling them "simple minds" because I'm an asshole. However, I've always loved his Madea character & I've seen & enjoyed a couple of his movies. And low-key, I had a crush on Tyler (yes, I've heard the rumors & they aint got nothing to do with me LoL), so when whatever gospel play came to Omaha in 2010 & they said he'd BE THERE - Baby! I took my hypocrite dollars, got dolled up, and joined my fellow blacks for a good time. If he's not for you, don't participate! But don't ruin everyone else's fun.

I voted no, but to be fair I don't watch much TV. In my younger days I did indulge in a few of his shows tho. I know some of my cousins do.

I tried to watch the pilot of that show with the interracial couple in the White House. I made it about twenty minutes in, before I had to bail out.

Nah. Not a fauxcott, but there's just so many other options and I love myself. I'm good, but get paid brother.
