Kids copy exactly what they see. We had to turn it off halfway through because we were watching it with our impressionable 6 year old daughter. I don’t want her to think she’s supposed to flash her underwear under her skirts to cameras and to slide up and down stripper poles half naked. Both women are absolutely amazing dancers and have the talent to pull off an incredible family friendly show but missed the opportunity. The cheerleaders are held to a very high moral standard and they have to be very aware of how they present themselves in public. This show was all about JLo promoting her new movie. I thought the half-time show was tasteless, shameless, and beneath the standards of television broadcasting. Do they still have standards? I can't believe some people are trying to say it's a cultural thing and the rest of us are racist or behind the times. I'm sorry, crotch grabbing, tongue flicking, and stripper poles are not part of the Latin culture! The way the show was filmed was objectifying those women. It was not a show of female empowerment. It was a show of female degradation. Jlo and Shakira should be ashamed of themselves. The NFL needs to get performers that can keep the shows entertaining and classy. Classy is not boring. I'm happy to see that both women are being scolded by the public for that overtly sexual performance because at first I thought it was just me that was more than a little shocked by it. You have to be 21 to get into a strip club, and they look and dance just like JLo did. Her movie is rated R, 17 with parental guidance. Now, why is any of that performance okay? Oh. Wait. It's not. That was pushed right down all of America's throat, and if any body who has a healthy self esteem and self love watched that, it's obvious that was total trash. I'm not against any of that, stripping, dancing on another man in a sexually provocative way when you're married, going to a strip club, dancing sexually on a stripper pole and the likes, but that is my choice to do so, not someone else's to take away from me. Grow the fuck up. Just because that has been the closest thing that you can get to fulfill your Jlo sexual fantasy, doesn't mean we all should have to watch it. I don't care if her record sales are low, and that's the kind of stunt you have to pull to revive your failing music career, I don't want to see it.
Kids copy exactly what they see. We had to turn it off halfway through because we were watching it with our impressionable 6 year old daughter. I don’t want her to think she’s supposed to flash her underwear under her skirts to cameras and to slide up and down stripper poles half naked. Both women are absolutely amazing dancers and have the talent to pull off an incredible family friendly show but missed the opportunity. The level of sexuality was unnecessary for daytime TV and the NFL absolutely should have posted a warning for young viewers.

This show was crass and deplorable. As Graham stated, it’s evident of the moral decay in our society. Shame on anyone and everyone involved in this tasteless skit. And the children in cages, the Puerto Rican flags... they made a mockery of America and most are too ignorant to see it. Everyone should submit complaints to the FCC, Fox Sports, Pepsi, and NFL for allowing this trash on prime time TV.

We made a decision not to watch the halftime show but unfortunately turned the TV back on too soon and did catch a glimpse of 2 barely clad butts 3 feet from the camera -- shaking in my face!! Really disgusting and not at all family friendly -- not good for children to see, not good for dads and not good for moms either. We as women need to show children that we have some self respect and that includes dressing and acting in a way that gives us dignity and wholeness.

In my opinion, as a younger woman of 18 years. This show was just a bunch of eye candy for those who are into it, and in no way was “appropriate” for young children. If woman truly want to be respected, why do we put things on a mantel that would otherwise be criticized? Where is the class, or is it simply “in” to be that forward? Was it all to escalate the performance? Nonetheless, it’s just my opinion that we don’t indulge children with pole dancing and crotch shots on a Sunday night.
