@Ava, that's also what I've saw because I remember I was voting myself around the same time yesterday and noticed how many Xiao Zhan fans gathered in the comment section. Because of this the site went off several times and I had to look for alternative way to vote. *that moment you realize you have nothing else to do* haha

@Neutral I wasn't around when it happened but here's gist of what I was able to gather. Yesterday, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo fans flooded the poll and comments section, causing a spontaneous increase in Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo's votes. Xiao Zhan was leading by, I can't remember but somewhere around 10k to 12k votes. All of a sudden, these Chinese fans stopped voting and there were messages in the comments (I don't read Chinese, just used Google translate) saying something about One-China policy. It seems they discovered the other celebrities that made it to the top 50 and there are some from Hong Kong and Taiwan and were listed under those places - Hong Kong and Taiwan. Apparently, these places are not considered as separate countries and are under China (even I didn't know that, at least for Taiwan). So Chinese people and China in general take offense on this. In the past, they even banned in China some internationally well-known brands all because they've listed store branches in T-shirts and websites and apparently identified Taiwan as a separate country. So because Starmometer has celebrities listed under Hong Kong and Taiwan as if they're separate countries instead of under China, they've asked Chinese fans to stop voting and ban the site. So in short, it is because of their political view.

A message to fellow Xiao Zhan fans: I admit, I only became a fan of Xiao Zhan because of 'The Untamed.' I'm a Mo Dao Zu Shi novel and donghua fan originally and I was skeptic at first when I decided to watch the drama. I immediately fell in love with it, regardless of the obvious changes they made from the novel all because Xiao Zhan gave life to one of my favorite characters, Wei Wuxian. It's Xiao Zhan's smile that got to me, actually. I know he has fans worldwide but I had my reservations when he was placed in a battle against someone as popular as a BTS member. So to see him going neck and neck with Taehyung's votes at one point and even reaching a million votes is quite amazing as it s already. I'm glad he has all your support and I'm amazed by your passion. Win or lose (well, Xiao Zhan still has a chance as a wildcard so we can still see him on the next round), I'm glad to have been able to stand on the same battle ground with you all.
