As mentioned, Fackrell was used in a manner that supplemented the roles of the Smiths. He also played a lot of snaps and was the most effective OLB when it came to breaking down screens.
There are two questions in my mind relative to re-signing Fackrell. One is the size of the contract. If low, he may be affordable. But, my guess is that some team will offer him a greater role and correspondingly, a greater contract -- even at 29 years old. The other question is to what degree could his role be met by Gary and another player, such as Ramsey, Roberts or a draft pick.
