Buttigieg is the best debater out of this bunch. While the others are just yelling, avoiding the question, and reiterating rehearsed talking points, Buttigieg actually answers the question he's being asked. This is just one thing that drew me to his campaign, and this is what will ensure that I vote for him in the primary and the general election.

Bernie just yelled. Pete was the only candidate up there acting like an adult. Can we narrow the field so Bernie doesn't run away with this nonsense. We don't owe Bernie anything. He might have gotten screwed in 2016 but he will never beat Trump in the general. If he is the nominee, not only will we have 4 more years of trump, but we will lose the house and lose senate seats. Ask the congressmen and senators in those swing seats who they want at the top of the ticket. Anyway, the best debater we have is Pete, hands down, full stop. Anyone else is just more of the same nonsense. Its time for a new generation of leadership.

Pete is the establishment candidate. Nothing but empty divisive rhetoric and hyperbole coming out of his smarmy mouth. The fix is in, the moderators are throwing gotcha questions at Bernie and allowing cheat Pete to continuously interrupt and talk over Bernie. Then we had to deal with the obv obviously establishment stacked crowd ! Who's idea was it to load up the seats with people who could afford $1,750-$3,500 tickets ? How is that representative of americans? The debates couldn't be any further from a true debate. They are a fraud and a farce! The DNC is allowing 12 candidates to remain. Half need to be gone before super Tuesday so we can start out candidates momentum to beat Dump. The DNC is allowing this to go on so that they can keep Bernie from getting 51% so that they can broker the superdelegates and screw Bernie ( and the country ) over again. The Establishment would obviously rather give Dump the win than Bernie.

Bernie Sanders clearly won the debate from my perspective and this poll is clearly being rigged or having people repeatedly vote for Buttigieg. I like Pete Buttigieg but did not find his performance noteworthy and if you check other polls on the same debate he usually comes in 3rd to 5th place.

I also like Joe Biden but sadly it seems age has taken a toll on him mentally. I've tremendous admiration and respect for Elizabeth Warren but she turned me off being so aggressive in her attacks against Bloomberg.

Every new attack line against Sanders has been quickly proven false, at least those with enough substance to be proven credible or not. On a personal level Sanders is an odd character but he is mentally focused and more consistent than any politician I know of in American history. No, he will not get passed everything he is advocating for during his presidency but at least he is advocating for it and starting the fight.

More commonly democrats go and ask if they can get a $3.00 raise to minimum wage and republicans will say absolutely not we were going to eliminate the minimum wage entirely. Then they compromise and end up cutting social benefits for the poor or for healthcare and democrats will relay this loss of ground as a victory for having saved the minimum wage.

Go big or go home I'm tired of these corporate democrats who function just like the republicans playing good cop vs. bad cop while having a prearranged agenda the entire time.

Whether you like Buttigieg or not, the man can debate and debates well. Highly intelligent, a great wordsmith, and quick thinking. He has not had a bad debate the entire time. He has good debates and he has great debates.

  • Bernie's Gonna Win - 5 years ago

Ha ha ha! You guys are clearly boosting Pete's votes artificially.

  • don - 5 years ago

Buttigieg has misrepresented Sanders Medicare For All plan too many times. Either he has not listened to Sanders or failed to read his plan but, never fails to attack it.
Sanders was the clear winner again!

-Burnie promises stuff he can't deliver.
    He will never win.
-Pete is to young and least experienced.
Could win and would be as effective as Jimmy Carter. So do you want a inffective one term president?
    - Biden Should choose Amy for VP that gives him a good chance. He should say that before super Tuesday.
-Amy is not getting the press she deserves.
Great canadate. Smart and classy. Would bring in some moderate Republicans who are sick of trump.
    -Tom streight shooter great canadate.
Not getting air time from press.

  • Pete (I talk over you when its not my turn) Edge - 5 years ago

Pete was rude. I cannot believe how smug and selfish he is. The moderators even let him speak over the top of others multiple times. He might beat trump at being more self centered! but he has no chance in the general, let alone in the democratic nominating process. He is a complete joke at this point and a shameful display for LGBTQ everywhere.

IF lies counted, I could almost say biden. I did not just vette my candidate of choice....I vetted them all. Records (actions) speak louder than words. I. too, am disgusted by israel. I heard NOTHING in those petty attacks to induce me to abandon Bernie. His votes on guns while a congressman in the house......well, I can understand them. Hunters in all the states would demand a voice there. So that attack doesn't sway me.
Still Bernie. And if he is cheated.......4 more years of the orange orwellian nightmare.

This debate was somehow even worse than the one just before the end of last year. The corrupt elite stacking of the audience, the awful line of questioning and the dogpiling on the only qualified candidate was beyond outlandish and tantamount to political fixing. If you want to win we already have a frontrunner. They aren't a vote stealer Shadow App endorsing CIA tool of the elite, he isn't a billionaire trying to coattail Bernie or buy democratic support. The pundits and questions were straight out of establishment playbooks and did nothing but bootlick the corrupt war base the DNC should be ashamed for forcing the scale yet again.

I don't think they understand that the new bar is Bernie. If you try to excite the progressive base with corrupt elites you will be laughably trounced. It isn't foreign interference, it's domestic superdelegate malfeasance and disavowing the voter base is only proving that money runs the country and not the people's will. Change that. If you don't I think you will see the lowest turn out or a sweep for Trump. Elect Bernie or get your just desserts.

Worst debate EVER. The moderators had zero control, the questions were substance-free, and the audience was stacked for Bloomberg. Despite that, Bernie managed to stave off ridiculous attacks and showed why he’s the front-runner: he always pivots to policy, which is THE most important reason to elect someone. The paid trolls here salivating over Pete...I’m sorry, what? He was rude, condescending, arrogant, and spoke over Bernie trying to prevent him from speaking. In what world are those leadership qualities. Furthermore, he LIED as he never served in combat. Y’all need to start thinking about why it is that he doesn’t fare well w people of color. Oh, yeah, Bloomberg needs to drop out...nice freudian slip letting us know he BOUGHT Congress. If you still support that, you should be ashamed.

  • Lindy - 5 years ago

Pete is the only other Democrat to consistently show he can compete with Bernie for the nomination. It is time for Joe, Elizabeth, Tom, and Mike to bow out and quit wasting delegates. Keep Bernie, Amy, and Pete so we can find a candidate.

  • Luis - 5 years ago

Donate to Bernie like I did. He's the only one that believes in a true democracy and has built the most diverse coalition. All the other candidates are corporate shills that are getting ready to steal the nomination from him. We must defeat Trump and he constantly beats him in the polls which also makes him the most electable candidate in the race.

  • Nancy - 5 years ago

    Age ......not she! Spell check!

  • Nancy - 5 years ago

The Republicans won! Pete had the edge as far as being dignified and intelligent, but he has baggage..... she, etc.

  • Cynthia Kimball - 5 years ago

The moderators did not do their jobs! Sen. Warren talks too long, talks over everyone and talks when not selected to do so. Maybe she should listen a lot more than be such a motor mouth.

The moderators need to assign time penalties when someone goes over. Easy solution.
Warren gets unhinged talking about horse-faced lesbians, and now saying that Bloomberg told a visibly-pregnant woman (so at least 3mo or 15wks) to “kill it,”. That simply could NOT be true. I liked Klobuchar for keeping debate focused on BEATING TRUMP, but she is not presidential in her behavior. Bloomberg continues to impress me for being reasonable about money - which is reality!!! I like how he says “Please let me finish THANK YOU” to shut up the interupters. He is firm but not rude. He wouldn’t be the worst president imo. Bernie Sanders Would be the Worst: he’s a dreamer that makes up money out of thin air. He also uses speech that incites conflict, not resolution. Yes, we need to correct the laws the rich put in place since Reagan but No Revolution is required! That is the irresponsible and entitled speech of a teenager. Bernie doesn’t know what it means to work at a job and raise a family: look up his biography!! Like Trump, he is a wanna-be (Revolutionary vs Tyrant). Biden had a good night but he’s too darn old and not always there. That leaves Pete Buttigieg as the favorite. He is a real democrat, but also an economics scholar who is honest about money numbers!! Accepting reality is the first step in making a plan to a goal. Buttigieg has progressive and do-able plans to turn America forward again. Plus, Pete has the skill set to get Everyone Working Together again. It’s easy to see: ask yourself Who Would You Most Like to Work With? The answer is undoubtedly Pete Buttigieg. Right? And as a man who went to serve in Afganistan, he knows how to face fear. As a man of values and intellect, he can certainly face Trump! To learn more about Pete, check out thePeteChannel.com.

Obviously people on this comment board didn't see the same debate that I did. I think that Bernie pretty much yelled the whole time as usual. I think that Pete was the most clear and concise contestant up there and yes he talked sometimes over when he was supposed to but that's because they weren't letting him get in a word in edgewise. Most of the time he waited his turned . He didn't yell over anybody . He kept his calm which I think is a very good quality to have . I definitely think he could beat Trump . I also think that Joe had a strong night.

  • Emily - 5 years ago

Pete was calm, cool, and collected. His presidential gravitas is consistent. His responses are intelligent and align with well thought policies that reduce, not add to our nations’s deficit.

  • Larry - 5 years ago

First of all, this was held on 2/26, not 2/19 as stated in this article.

Secondly, there was exactly one adult on stage. #PeteForAmerica

  • Diana Martin - 5 years ago

This was the worst debate so far. The moderators didn't control people talking over each other. Pete was the absolute worst about refusing to abide anywhere close to the rules of the debate and rudely talked over people, not just for a sentence but droning on and on and on. He was a whiny brat.

Bloomberg admitted he bought the Democratic party and proved once again he's a Republican.

Bernie is simply the most authentic and the people see it. Everyone else up there is fake to a certain degree or else a Moderate Republican when you get right down to it. Liz is the fencesitter who can't decide whether to go left or right.

Bernie stays the course because he is a decent, honest man. We don't see much of that anymore.Very nice to think we could fumigate the WH and start have a kind, tolerant America again

  • Shirley Ching - 5 years ago

Pete was the best by far...so clear, sincere, and eloquent.

  • Kat B - 5 years ago

Bernie was humanistic enough to admit he's made bad decisions on votes in his past. To me that says a lot about his integrity.

  • Brooke - 5 years ago

Bernie and Tom were most impressive. Biden and Warren were next best. Pete was absolutely embarrassing. He was rude, arrogant, and insincere.

  • Cindi Vallee - 5 years ago

Bernie won again. Even with all of the ganging up on him and non truths about some of his policies and positions he still came out way ahead. Sorry but Pete was once again the worst in my opinion.

  • Bruce Gruber - 5 years ago

Bernie continued, despite aggressive, parsed digs and unrelated attacks, to articulate his goals and priorities on several different occasions. The rest are arguing compromised mini-parts of Bernie’s basics just as the system slow-walks ‘Change’ to maintain the status-quo as long as possible.

  • Areck - 5 years ago

The moderators were terrible, Bernie swatted away the attacks from all sides. That is why he's the frontrunner.
