Have dating apps made dating harder?

I think dating websites begin to feel like a vanity project. The male profiles I come across are often typical no matter the platform: a photo of you flexing in the gym, a selfie in the car, sometimes a photo in a fancy room which is actually a hotel room. People make mistakes of posting pictures with kids but you read the first line of their profile and it typically says ‘kids not mine....or the kid is my niece....’

A friend of mine described it as if you’re an instagram influencer. You need engagement with your profile. Even if you match with someone attractive with a well put together profile and no red flags in their pictures (you know, affectionate pics with gorgeous women or a photo where a woman is clearly cropped out lol....who is this woman and why not chose a different pic where you’re not cupcaking lol) if you send out a message and they don’t message you back it’s empty.

This is going long but one day I’ll tell you about the Scammer that hit me up for money 4 days into talking. I don’t wanna attribute a country to it because I hate that stereotype with a passion but bruhhhhhhhh. Smh.

Dating is the pits for women like me. It like you have to thumb through the tragedies to get to someone who might have some of their sense. I decided to try Match and Bumble for about 3 months and all I did was waste money. Barely anyone talked to me and when they did, they were either married or just damaged from the other women that dated them. I gave up and sadly just made me think if there is such a thing as going on a date and getting to know someone the old fashioned way.
