I’m switching from Macbook Pro to a Windows/Linux laptop. Grown tired of Apple making only cosmetic improvements and not offering much power for the buck. Meanwhile, Windows Subsystem for Linux is increasingly providing all the key unix utilities I needed from the Mac, with plenty of fancy pro apps because it’s Windows.

After the Mac Pro came out aquarely targeting professionals who can either have their employer foot the bill, or write it off as a business expense or use their well paying work to pay for one I just can't justify it.
However I have no need for a laptop, or the iMac Pro either. Ideally I'd like a mac mini with a Ryzen 3950X, 32GB of 3600 DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB SSD; that's my dream Mac. With Ryzen and AMD having a great year the Intel based specs are lagging, while Apple's prices aren't.
I prefer using macOS, and Logic specifically as a hobbyist; if I have to go PC I will - but I'd have to switch DAW's because of it.

If the iMac gets a complete redesign rather than a refresh and at least a 32/34 inch display then I'm looking to replace my old Mac Pro 5,1 with a 4K 40 inch monitor which has been great for photo editing.

I’m looking to buy the Mac Pro but am waiting for the 16 video card option that’s been promised “soon” since it rolled out last December. Since I’ve waited this long I may also wait for the first round of other upgrades such as to the amount of SSD storage provided for a given price point or to the CPU options.

I’m still using a 2011 iMac and I’ve been waiting for some kind of redesign before I upgrade... the old beast is getting slow so I hope this is the update I’ve been waiting for.

I just want them to bring a Mac that is a smaller version of the Mac Pro. Consumer chips instead of workstation cpus, and smaller scale. I don’t know if I’ll upgrade my iMac until they release that product. I would buy a desktop Mac launch day.

I’m not going to buy a new MacBook, I’m going to wait until a legit surface version of the MacBook comes out. I want my next iPad to be a laptop in iPad body. I want it also to integrate with my work laptop (think of a partitioned drive) that works for personal and bidness ;)
