I agree with all comments . American Idol made a very bad decision to create this gimmick ending to the Hawaii show . Both Lauren and Grace are very talented performers. who should be able to compete for the title . Why doesn’t Idol release the vote count of all 21 contestants. I guarantee that Lauren and Grace would not be ranked 20 or 21

The bottom line is that A.I. is terrified that The Voice is going to trounce them, which it will. This is a short term solution, a cliffhanger, to a long term problem. They are also worried that two from the same genre and same sex would be top each week and the final two. They both deserve to be country superstars.

Lauren is the better talent, you say your not just about the voice and she is the entire package. I think Grace had the better song choice and she could get voted through because of that. I see what I feel is some personal favoritism that I didn't see in the past two years, Lauren and Grace are better than some of the others and should not have been put through this. Step out and make this year your top 21 that way America can really decide.

Why would you make this biased and articulate the fact that you want Grace before we even take the poll..... don’t you see how that affects the results? Also, if we are going to judge on who is the overall singer and much better artist, then it’s going to have to be Lauren. She truly is an artist and not just an amazing singer. Like Katy said earlier, “it’s not enough just to be a good singer.”

I agree both singers should be sent through. Both have top ten talent and star quality. If I had I had to choose I would like to see Lauren because of her consistency to bring elegance but yet fun life to country music. She makes it look so easy. I really do hope they let both these women go through. It would be very interesting.

It’s not rite that all these other people went through, an they weren’t even twice as great as these two Beautiful females that can sing like rock stars! You can’t tell Grace that she had maybe the best performance of the night and then not put her through. Both were excellent but if I had to pick one based on those two performances, it would have to be Grace Leer.

Grace is very talented and even with those short shorts she wore I still think hands down Lauren will win because she is the better and more polished performer. She has star quality and looks like she could handle a whole concert let alone one song at a time for those dopey giddy judges. I agree with Paul Borghese about that!

PS - I also think that they both should have made it through! Both were better than some of their previous selections. These judges are ridiculous in the way that they mess with every contestants heads when it comes to the final decision. It’s like torture for the contestant and for the viewers. Why can’t they just be straightforward and professional about it? And why do they try to make it about THEM? It’s not about them, it’s about the contestants. All the dancing around and facial expressions in the judges booth is amateur! Anyone else been feeling that too?

I am SHOCKED that they didn't put both of them through. The talent this year is off the charts so I understand they had to send some incredible people home, but I honestly think these two are better than a few of the others they put through. If this vote is close, they should let them both stay!

I don’t usually vote unless someone truly catches my attention and has more than singing talent. Lauren Mascitti is not only a very talented singer, she did a beautiful, heartfelt original, plays the piano and guitar. She not only checks off all the boxes, she adds a few more that others didn’t. I agree that I felt there were others who were so young and could have used at least another year and one young girl near the end in a pink dress whose voice was all over the place. It seemed as if some judge’s mind was already made up for her to go through. Lauren has everything it takes to go far and she is beautiful to boot.
