I wonder how many of the 'We voted for Brexit' people will be quite so happy and belligerent when there is no actual food in the supermarkets for them to stockpile? All very well to tie your wagon to Farage's malign star when times are good. If this ghastly government can't cope with a virus WHILE RELYING ON THE EU for freshfood, medicines and ventilators, G*D help you after December. Coz, Boris spaffer bumboys letterbox surrender get off my fucking laptop Johnson won't.

The coronavirus débacle has put the Brexit one into perspective. The British Government has failed in its duty to the British people, distracted by its adherence to a policy whose consequences are already making things worse. It is time to shelve the Brexit project, permanently.

I cannot better the following response so I’ve copied and pasted... we are all Europeans, Brexit should be delayed!
It should never have happened... now we’re seeing how our fellow Europeans have contributed to our country..in our care homes, helping to Harvest our crops, they’re the Doctors, the Nurses in our hospitals... Brexit was/is a nonsense.. isolationism for what? Ideology, a harking back to our Empire day’s... a nonsense, a travesty!

On a human level I am hoping that Boris recovers, he and everyone suffering has my sympathy. I hope he will recover and reconsider the lies he has told, the poor discussions he has made and the harsh rhetoric of 'taking it on the chin'. It is not British to just cave in to this virus and accept the loss of life. Off course Brexit should be delayed , in fact it should be halted. It does not represent the views of the people of the UK in 2020. The world is heading for a serious recession, now is not the time to pile further damage on to the UKs economy. Now is the time to work with our closest neighbours to lead the world out of this catastrophe. After all the praise the Government has heaped upon the NHS they had better now accept its value to the nation, now and for the long term, and ensure all NHS staff are treated fairly and with respect. Including all those who come from European. Time for this current lot of so called Conservatives to admit they are wrong. Boris could still become a great PM, he just has to change tack, do a 180 degree turn. There is a world leadership vacuum, has Boris really got what it takes to fill the gap, has he got a vision that will take not just the UK,, but the world forward, can he bring our nation together, and other nations too? Think of this virus as a test for humanity, we must learn, we must work together, we must advance our systems of Governance, and see unions of nations pooling resources. Really working together and integrating will enable the human race to build, to explore and expand, rather than stagnate.

It would be unthinkable to leave the EU now. We need the support of all the EU nations to see us through this crisis, both now and in the future.

We should be concentrating on dealing with Coronavirus. Brexit will be the final straw in the destruction of the UK.
How can people even be thinking about leaving the EU at a time like this when we should all be cooperating with our European neighbours.

It can be changed by common sense, look at the mess of the country. Covid-19 is rife, thousands dying, most businesses closed, unemployment rising as companies fail and foodbanks and undertakers are the only things that are growing. Its ridiculous and treason to continue with brexit now and ridiculous to believe any bullet point remark they make. your brains in lockdown not just the country. They are put in charge of a country to protect it, all of its citizens and its economy.

Ditch Brexit. It is better to work together in this World and in terms of doing that, in Europe, there is no better platform than that provided by the EU.

  • Simon Carlton - 4 years ago

It should be delayed by at least the length of the lockdown or scrapped completely.

  • Carolanne - 4 years ago

laws are meant to be changed and frequently do as do governments, they all know that.

  • Sean Williams - 4 years ago

It's written into law , we leave on December 31at it can't be changed by a poll !
